Grant told me the Red Sox would be irrelevant once Ortiz retires.

 

I was actually completely right in saying that the offense would crumble after he left. JD Martinez was a wonderful signing.

Yeah best offense in baseball but only reason they aren't complete garbage is because of JD Martinez.

Since when is a 92 wRC+ 'great' ? Their offense completely collapsed without Ortiz.

That is truly an amazing way to handle this. Show that it's a systemic issue. Don't punish those that were out'd now...use them to evoke change.

This was fantastic, much better way of showing this problem in baseball, while acknowledging that lots of the guys who made these tweets probably don't still think this way.

 

Much better than automatic outrage that the Jen BigMacs of the world that accomplish nothing and antagonize everyone else.

Juan Soto is absurd. 2/2 with 3 walks today, and now has a 17% BB rate, 17% K-rate, and a wRC+ of 164. His command of the strike zone at the age of 19 is pretty much unprecedented.
