King Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Scherzer and Strasburg argument...anyone got details? Video won't load for me It's kind of nothing. They started arguing and then went down the tunnel.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Looks like Familia is probably traded (or about to be). He's not in for the save tonight. To the A's it looks like. Billy Beane going all in.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Texas loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom of the 10th and couldn't score.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Same injury/surgery Tulo had, why not get it done right now?
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Tatis Jr potentially out for the year due to thumb surgery, s***** buzz
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 German couldn't get out of the 4th inning for the Yankees tonight. They are down in the 9th to the Mutts while Boston about to beat the Tigers. I don't think Cashman will get desperate enough to do something stupid, certainly not for Happ, but that AL East lead for the Sox isn't getting smaller. Yankees need a SP. The AL looks so set that teams are starting to look at matchups. If you think you are playing the Astros I don't think you want a lefty, against the Sox you probably do. Both teams struggle against junk pitchers...which could mean that there is an underwhelming move (Mike Minor comes to mind) coming.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 To the A's it looks like. Billy Beane going all in. It's the Rincon situation all over again, 16 years later.

King Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Mets are getting a pair of nobodies and slot money for Familia
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Mets are getting a pair of nobodies and slot money for Familia Yeah that package is a pile of junk.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Yeah that package is a pile of junk. Definitely seems light. The bonus slot money was probably the key to the deal, although Wahl is somewhat interesting. He has the potential to turn into a Familia imo.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Mets are getting a pair of nobodies and slot money for Familia My eyes just got AIDS reading the comments, lol.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Garrett Hampson called up, today. LeMahieu to the DL.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 To the A's it looks like. Billy Beane going all in. Last time he did this it didnt work out very well
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Mets are getting a pair of nobodies and slot money for Familia Mets owners make Rogers look like late-90's Steinbrenner by comparison. They were probably happy to save some dough.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Carpenter with another home run (pinch hit this time). The man is on some kind of roll atm. 6 straight games with a home run.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Bumgarner hasn't looked very elite this year. Only went 4 innings with 6 walks against the A's today... Yikes!
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Lol, Segura just got caught stealing 3rd, with none out, and his team down by 4.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 I could have sworn I just heard someone yell out let's go Blue Jays at the White Sox - Mariners game.
onwego Verified Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Chapman stunk in his outing against the Mets, a hit and 3 walks and beaning the always leaning Nimmo, almost tossed away a 4 run lead in the 9th Nimmo has the Mets record for hit by pitch in a season, I guess Ron Hunt was merely in undergrad mode with the Mets before his doctorate in the free base for the Expos years
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 OUTRAGE! cf The man's name is Whitey. Can you expect him to be PC? He's almost 90...I'll pass on the outrage on this one, but he shouldn't be driving or on air at that age.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Matt Carpenter has a 454 wRC+ over his 6 game HR streak. He has a 1.174 ISO over the stretch.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Jose Ramirez leads the majors in ISO and fangraphs' BsR. That is one scary combination. He's also a top 20 defender.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 One of my favourite games all time was 21 years ago today... https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199707221.shtml the 77 pitch complete game. 7 pitch first and an 8 pitch 9th (with a hit against)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Brent Suter with a torn UCL. Guess that explains his disastrous outing last night. On the plus side, it might open up another Happ suitor.
Ray Verified Member Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Nothing in the Milwaukee farm system interests me other than Hiura, Burnes, and Peralta. But I doubt we get any of those guys for half a season of Happ. I still like the idea of trading with the Yankees and making them pay a premium for inter division. They're the most desperate for SP help.
