German couldn't get out of the 4th inning for the Yankees tonight. They are down in the 9th to the Mutts while Boston about to beat the Tigers. I don't think Cashman will get desperate enough to do something stupid, certainly not for Happ, but that AL East lead for the Sox isn't getting smaller. Yankees need a SP.

 

The AL looks so set that teams are starting to look at matchups. If you think you are playing the Astros I don't think you want a lefty, against the Sox you probably do. Both teams struggle against junk pitchers...which could mean that there is an underwhelming move (Mike Minor comes to mind) coming.

Yeah that package is a pile of junk.

 

Definitely seems light. The bonus slot money was probably the key to the deal, although Wahl is somewhat interesting. He has the potential to turn into a Familia imo.

Mets owners make Rogers look like late-90's Steinbrenner by comparison. They were probably happy to save some dough.

Chapman stunk in his outing against the Mets, a hit and 3 walks and beaning the always leaning Nimmo, almost tossed away a 4 run lead in the 9th

 

Nimmo has the Mets record for hit by pitch in a season, I guess Ron Hunt was merely in undergrad mode with the Mets before his doctorate in the free base for the Expos years

Nothing in the Milwaukee farm system interests me other than Hiura, Burnes, and Peralta. But I doubt we get any of those guys for half a season of Happ.

 

I still like the idea of trading with the Yankees and making them pay a premium for inter division. They're the most desperate for SP help.
