Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Nothing in the Milwaukee farm system interests me other than Hiura, Burnes, and Peralta. But I doubt we get any of those guys for half a season of Happ. I still like the idea of trading with the Yankees and making them pay a premium for inter division. They're the most desperate for SP help. They have some interesting pitchers like Corbin Burnes, Luis Ortiz, Quintin Torres-Costa, Zack Brown and Marcos Diplan. They don't have a lot on the position players except Hiura and maybe Carlos Rodriguez.

Medeiros is also interesting on the likely more available side of things. Whether he sticks as a starter is anyone's guess, but if not he should be one hell of a reliever.

They have a few intriguing buy-low positional targets that others haven't mentioned.

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Brett Phillips and Orlando Arcia coming right up. I was actually thinking of Lucas Erceg, Trent Grisham, Tristen Lutz... but now that I'm looking at their depth chart, I'll take one Domingo please. I'd take the Sherriff just for the name. I would enjoy Neon Keon of course.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Lol, the Bos - BAL game is in a rain delay ... 3 batters into the game.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 This guy got torn to shreds for not giving a kid a ball when it turns out that he had already given this kid a ball earlier in the game. The internet is truly terrible sometimes.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Brett Phillips and Orlando Arcia coming right up. Domingo Santana is another one who they demoted. I'm not against targeting those types. If they fail they fail, but there's logic behind acquiring them and they can jump right into the bigs. Still think the lower level (high upside/high risk) types are the best to target for this team though.

onwego Verified Member Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Good thing he didn't give us a hometown discount watching the Mets lately, Keith and Ron are good to listen to, the broadcast knows and admits the team sucks. Jose Reyes doing his best as well, they only ask why he's out there twice a game, at least he doesn't have this grin like he smoked a bowl before he went out to play

Between Maverick and the Sheriff, that would raise the Jays into the top tier for nicknames since Squints left for St. Louis.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Only took the A's three years to bounce back from the s***** JD trade (and the 2014/15 moves in general). Not bad. Hope they beat the lucky M's for the WC.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Preller really needs to be fired. LMAO, I hadn't checked in on Hosmer in a few months... dear god that contract is charging headlong towards worst case scenario. -0.8 WAR, 89 wRC+... yikes.

The Padres offseason was hilarious: - Took on Headley's $13M to acquire Bryan Mitchell. Cut Headley after getting -0.4 fWAR from him, and have received -0.9 fWAR from Mitchell. - Traded Enyel De Los Santos to rent Galvis for 2018. He's produced 0.4 fWAR for $6.8M. - Spent $4.3M on two years of Kazuhisa Makita. -0.3 fWAR so far. - Gave Eric Hosmer $144M, and he's at -0.8 fWAR. - Traded Solarte for Edward Olivares and Jared Carkuff. Have already released Carkuff and Olivares has a 92 wRC at 22 in A+ Literally everything they touched turned to s***.
