saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Hallelujah! Don't stop at Donaldson. Trade Stroman and Sanchez. You can hardly wait for the Jays to go through a couple 90 loss seasons.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Why is this thread 5 pages long. What is wrong with you guys.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 You guys think Crawford is going to hit? Good patience at the plate. Curious to see how he develops....although he stiffed my 7 yr old out of an autograph this past spring so f*** him a little bit. Biggest sweetheart ever. Maybe your 7 year old is ugly

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 No kidding it was thin prior. The opportunity for the Jays to improve, fill holes, and contend in 2018 is starting to close. But still some time left. Yer just mad that your constant predictions that JD will not be moved this offseason are in jeopardy. *sighs*
Todd Verified Member Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 While the Blue Jays have been quiet thus far, Heyman says they could be lurking on a few interesting names. In the outfield, J.D. Martinez is a legitimate target, he says, as are Carlos Gonzalez and Lorenzo Cain. The club is also considering quality utility options such as Eduardo Nunez and Howie Kendrick. Meanwhile, Toronto has reached out to the Padres on Brad Hand, who’s a highly valuable relief asset. It remains to be seen whether the Jays will be willing to pony up a lot of cash or prospect assets to make a significant win-now move, but it’s notable that the team is at least exploring some notable possibilities. But talk is cheap. Lets see if they get it done.
The Iceman Verified Member Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Does this concern anyone as to how younger sibling may advance? The Rockies have agreed to terms on a minor-league pact with Dante Bichette Jr., whose father was a four-time Rockies All-Star. News of the pact was originally reported by Matt Kardos at Pinstripe Prospects, and later confirmed by the elder Dante Bichette (via Thomas Harding of MLB.com). Bichette Jr. began his career in promising fashion after the Yankees made him a supplemental first round pick in the 2011 draft; the third baseman hit .342/.446/.505 with the Yankees’ Rookie league affiliate. However, he’s never quite managed to replicate that success at any other level of the minors. As such, Bichette Jr. has yet to reach Triple-A. Most recently, he hit .262/.352/.352 with the Trenton Thunder (Double-A affiliate of the Yankees) in 2017.

The Iceman Verified Member Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Why does anyone want The Jays to tie up future budget money or trade prospects to get marginally better. for this coming year? The writing is on the wall. Jays are too old, slow and generally not good enough to be patched. Yanks, Red Sox and Houston are light years ahead of the Jays. Until they get a higher salary cap number or rid themselves of Martin, Tulo, Morales contracts the team will not be a contender. Worst case scenario is to tie up more money in aging FA players like Martinez, Gonzolez or Cain. Management says they can't improve the team by trading Donaldson. I say that is a hell of a lot better option than losing him for a draft pick in the off season. or signing the then 32 year old to an inflated 5 year deal while we are not ready to contend. Stop the ******** management. Do what needs to be done, get younger, cheaper, faster now and be ready to contend when our top level prospect become ripe. The fans will buy into that.Hell I will even buy into selling on Donaldson and reinvesting his money in a FA as a secondary plan.

Would love to see a JD extension as well.

Last year's team was fatally flawed because we had so many 0 to negative WAR players on the team. Replacing them with even average players will improve the team a ton. Replace them with players like Cain or Nunez and it's like adding premier All-Star talent to the roster in terms of what you would normally expect in terms of improvement.

Todd Verified Member Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Question If and when are the blue jays going to improve this team. The deeper it go's the more likely Josh Donaldson walks. Even though everybody knows he will at the end of season.
