No, not officially. There was a short video of him flying wildly and low.

Speculation is that he was kind of being reckless, pushing it a bit too much, flying too low. + Not enough experience in the plane or flying in general.

The plane itself is under scrutiny. It's pretty new and there have been several deaths now including the designer himself.

Thanks. Yeah saw that video after searching. I wonder if it was reckless or if that plane is designed to be flown low like that. Will be interesting to see what the story is/was.

News and notes from the Waldorf Astoria, site of the general managers meetings:

President and CEO Mark Shapiro, Ross Atkins and a contingent of about 40 people will represent the Blue Jays at Tuesday’s Celebration of Life for Roy Halladay in nearby Clearwater, Fla. Atkins said plans to recognize the right-hander are in the works and that the organization has “talked to his representation, we’ve talked to his closest friends and asked them their opinions on how to best handle that and how to do it best with his family, letting them lead it with us.”

As for a report by Hall of Fame writer Bob Elliott of the Canadian Baseball Network that the Blue Jays made Halladay apply for a job with the team, Atkins said, “What I can tell you is what was reported wasn’t accurate. … We embraced him 100 per cent and wanted him to feel very much a part of the organization and there were multiple discussions to try to make that happen.”

I'm watching his celebration of life right now. Very, very, very, very touching. What a man...what a life!

I hope they play it again on TV, I missed it.

Any idea how old his kids are? Any of them into baseball?

Two sons, the oldest - Braden, 16 - is a high school pitcher and is on Twitter @BradenHalladay

They just finished winning the State Championship with dad coaching.. :(

Braden looks so much like his father it was almost too difficult to watch.

Have you seen the ad with Brandy and Doc, that was so surreal and difficult to watch, it was a nice celebration of life for him, Brandy and Carp teared me up. Sad the kids lose their pops so early in their life, sad. Such a difficult time for them.

In case you missed it... *Brandy's nightmare*

Bob Elliott was wrong? INCONCEIVABLE!

That is such an incredibly dick move to bring up that s*** after Roy's death just to stir the pot. Bob is an old, senile *******.

A media reprieve of the recent firing of the PR staff, I assume. It was certainly in poor taste.

You guys are right. Haven't even noticed that until you guys pointed that out because we're obviously focused on more important things during this tragedy.

f*** Bob Elliott.

Hopefully he can finish what his dad tried to do.

Are you trolling? What does "finish what his dad tried to do" even mean?

Edit: I suppose you mean win a World Series in Toronto but you're really, really getting ahead of yourself here. We have no idea what kind of prospect this kid is and how serious he is about baseball. All we know is that he's a young person whose been dealt a cruel blow. Speculating about his future baseball career really seems out of place at the moment.

Calling people out for being "Slow? Retarded even?" isn't out of place?

I never said that. I hate that people do that but it's not a fight I'm going to win.

Well, technically slow and retarded mean pretty much the same thing, and it sure did come across that he was slow to realize that speculating on Braden's baseball career at this juncture was a bit in poor taste.

So I mean...Spanky was kind of on point, he was just being a giant ******* in the process.

I understand that he just lost his dad but it's quite common for people to manage loss by keeping their mind busy and if/once it gets real, I'm sure it will be great for him on many levels to follow in his dad's footsteps.

Is it too early to tell what will happen with him? Of course, but one can hope.

And if it wasn't clear, I meant getting a ring with Toronto.

This is just...such a weird thing to think about. This is Halladay's kid and baseball. Not George Bush Jr. and the country of Iraq.

He may have the goal of winning the World Series...but specifically with the Jays? Like, he's going to go through hoops to specifically have unfinished business settled in Toronto. It makes no sense, man. This is purely sentimental fan-speak. If he makes it to the majors he will be happy to do so with whatever team drafted him and the Jays shouldn't go out of their way to draft him if they believe there is a superior player available at their slot.

That's if he even has enough talent and desire to become an MLB pitcher in the first place, which is an extreme longshot even with pedigree.

Blue Jays might target him in a future draft. Maybe draft him a round or two early, just to ensure they get him. What a story that’d be...imagine that. Brings a tear to my eyes.

Is he any good?

From last year, I'd assume he's gotten much better, since PG hasn't graded these kids past season.

2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Dec 28, 2016

PG Grade: 7

Braden Halladay is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Odessa, FL who attends Calvary Christian HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long limbs, lean and projectable with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, short rock step moving into leg lift just above belt, compact delivery with balance and gathers over the rubber well. Nice directionality and remains on line towards the plate, shows looseness and quickness to tight arm action before working to a three-quarters release point. Creates plane on fastball, topped out at 78 mph with nice running life to the arm side when down in the zone. Feel for a changeup at 70 mph and mixes it well, maintains arm speed on offering nicely. Attacks zone and locates to either side, sweeping breaking ball with 10-4 shape, short depth and induced consistent weak contact. Similar quick arm action from the outfield, fields the ball out front, comes out cleanly, shows athleticism to actions and works behind the ball well, nice carry to intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and slightly open stance, employs a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Easy swing, shows a nice feel for the barrel and ability to go to the opposite field. Contact approach and executes well, full swing path through the zone with extension, occasional uphill to plane, projects with additional strength. Excellent student.

Perfect Game Grade... 7 College prospect, possible future draft pick with development

Is there any reason to believe at this point he even has minor league potential, let alone major league potential? I ask because I honestly don't know.
