Have to think about it from his perspective, he's young and has maybe never even been to North America before this week

He's known he was going to be posted for some time, and known he was coming over here for a few years now likely. It seems like if it was me, I'd already have visited a few of the cities. I wouldn't want to make a snap decision on a few presentations, possibly not even seeing the actual city first in person.

Reports write awful articles on pointless topics to appease general fans every single day. The topic has also been discussed at length on here. You could have just posted the link and said "ha - the little bow tie wearing midget agrees with me" and moved on.....but noooo - you had to press on with another repetitive posts about this.

Am I the only one who is enjoying the process...f*** if he created a TV show to make his decision right now I'd consider him the greatest baseball person ever.

If he went full LeBron James and made a Decision out of this, then it would have definitely been more entertaining.

I'd decided the "Most Dramatic/Triggered Poster" category may be my only path to recognition during the upcoming 2017 BJMB Prestigious Forum Poster Awards Gala Dinner + Dance.

There's your baseball porn .gifs for the day boys. Enjoy.

Lol @ the clickbait title and overblown hype. If Ohtani is anything less than Yu Darvish as a pitcher and prime Adam Lind with the bat a lot of people are going to be very disappointed. Give the guy a chance to prove himself before declaring him as the most unique/revolutionary player in history.

"Ohtani might be better than we thought" is such a ******** article title considering fangraphs is leading the hype train on him.

C'mon man - they say "since Babe Ruth"

I didn't realise this guy brings the heat. We're planning our annual baseball trip (BAL, WAS, PHI this year). We're going to wait and see where Ohtani lands and give ourselves a shot at seeing him live.

Nice

I wonder how much OF he'll play for them. They don't have an open spot. Maybe he'll just pinch hit.

Pujols is glued to DH for a while, so not sure where he will get his AB's from.

Regardless, the Angels have been run a lot better since Eppler took over. They have been making a lot of smart moves recently.

I wonder if Ohtani will be an SP, OF in Yahoo and if you'll be able to start him at either on a given day but not both. Super curious how that will play out in fantasy.

Man it would be cool to see Pujols have just one dead cat bounce in a season with Trout and Ohtani

Angels can't stop now. They need to do something about that god awful infield (minus Simmons) too. They have money to spend now that Hamilton is off the books. Ohtani is definitely a shot in the arm but they still need to do a bit more to get Mike Trout to the playoffs.

Although I gotta say: Upton, Maitan and Ohtani. Hell of an offseason for them already.

Other than Ohtani, what do they have in the rotation? I can't even name one other starter on that team off the top of my head.

Ohtani, Garrett Richards, Tyler Skaggs, Matt Shoemaker and Parker Bridwell.

JC Ramerez, Alex Meyer as depth.

It's decent.

Garrett Richards, Matt Shoemaker, Tyler Skaggs, and JC Ramirez. Alex Meyer, too, when healthy.

Edit: Damn it, JFL.

Seems like a lot of injury risk in that rotation, but yes, if healthy that's not bad.

Half of those guys are either injured or will get injured, it doesn't exactly inspire hope.

The Angels are suddenly a really fun team.

Trout/Upton/Simmons/Calhoun are a great lineup core, and Ohtani is exactly what that rotation needed. If Richards/Skaggs/Shoemaker/Mayer can stay reasonably healthy, they have a chance to be pretty good.

I predicted the Angels would get him. They fit all the criteria: west coast, AL team, no Japanese player competition.

It'll be cool to watch Trout and OhtanI on the same team.
