LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Thought this deserved its own thread. There's nothing physically wrong with him, but he's not right mentally right now.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Wtf, he always looks so stoic out there. I would of never thought he'd ever feel nervous or anxious. Maybe he smokey da weed?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Osuna must feel awful for utterly dominating MLB hitters over the past 6 weeks. I hope some people are enjoying the crow today.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Jesus Christ.... this really is the worst season ever.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Sorry to hear this, hope they are able to find the root of his issues and get him back to feeling like himself.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 jonah keri broke osuna damn That actually might be it lol. Not like he's been struggling on the mound.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 So much pressure for such a young guy to handle. I could easily see how this could happen.
nmrch Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Give the kid a break and get him away from Baseball for a while
Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I hope he gets back on his feet. Anxiety is an awful thing to have to live with, because it can be a self perpetuating cycle. You start feeling more anxiety because you are anxious of being anxious.
tercet Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I saw him outside my building 3-4 hours after a game about a month ago, and man o man did he look pissed. Maybe you could get mad at me because I asked him 'Why the hell you up here?' and he looked like he wanted to kill me.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Give the kid a break and get him away from Baseball for a while I don't know how much that would help
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Very rare for a professional athlete to admit it. From his demeanor on the mound I would have never guessed. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Hopefully Osuna gets the help he needs and gets better
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 It is easy to forget he's only 22. But yeah, I'm blaming Keri for this.
JonMc Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Wow. Yeah, a lot for young shoulders to handle but he was trukkin' along so nicely. Hopefully a blip...do what he needs to do.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 You would think Grilli would be the one suffering from anxiety. Knowing you are walking out on the field about to get absolutely shelled.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 That's tough to hear but I hope he gets whatever help he needs and becomes a leader/role model for other players who may be experiencing similar issues but are scared to speak out. The stigma surrounding mental illness will eventually lift.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Have to remember this guy has like a grade 8 education. He left school to work to help his family.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Give him some xanax and let's go!! Just five more 'thanks' and this troll gets banned folks http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/7578-DFA-Grilli
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Just five more 'thanks' and this troll gets banned folks http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/7578-DFA-Grilli I wasn't able to see that before, thank you. Although the post you just quoted should be trollish enough to warrant a ban on its own anyway.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 As a guy with anxiety issues (especially social anxiety), this breaks my heart. I hope Osuna takes as much time as he needs. Anxiety manifests itself in so many different ways, so just because Roberto looks like a stone cold robot on the mound doesn't mean he isn't human. I should know. My panic attacks are internal. You'd never know I'm going through one unless I told you something specific to look for (subtle, specific body language change).
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Anxiety especially when it's linked to more severe causes like manic depression is a f***er. It's also incredibly hard to deal with because there is often no real trigger for it. I know people who can have a "episode" who can be crippled by anxiety attacks and literally can't leave the house. And on other days they'll be 100% fine. A lot of sportsmen suffer from mental illnesses not just because of the pressure, but being on the road so much and often away from families and loved ones. Being young, male, and competitive can cause a lot of them to try to hide it. Hopefully Roberto can get the therapy he needs because the last thing he should do is try to battle through if he's not feeling right.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Osuna's girl cheating, book it While i do like to the subscribe by the "Women ruin everything" theory...this can't be your answer to every issue
Yippy Verified Member Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Having to watch grilli pitch won't help osuna's anxiety
