Random Note - Kevin Vicuna is a 19 year old shortstop that was signed as one of the top prospects of the Blue Jays 2014 IFA class. He spent all of 2015 playing in the DSL and all of 2016 playing in the GCL. Vicuna was awarded this spring with some playing time in MLB spring training, and now it looks like he is filling in on the Dunedin Jays for a short term injury.

At this rate, I'm curious if Bo and Vlad end up hitting their way to AAA by season's end 2018.

lol

It's not totally improbable, not sure why you're laughing. They basically have to finish strong in Dunedin by the end of this season, and they're already mashing Lansing. Then they can debut in AA in 2018 and let their performances dictate their call-ups once again.

Yeah, my mistake, I thought you meant this season. Although it's still highly unlikely at their age.

Are we sure Vlady is 18?

He was born in Canada as others have pointed out but he was also born to a famous father. How could Vlad Sr. possibly make up when his son was born? Not trying to pile on but...

If AA was still our GM, seen how aggressive he was with promoting prospects(Osuna & Cstro), we could see them in Jays`s lineup in 2018.

We could also see feminists infiltrate sports and 50/50 the genders on each team by 2018...............chamon meow.

can the jays just punt the season, move MLB assets for prospects, and target 2020 for 6 or 7 highly regarded rookies on the team, like the leafs this year

If we can have another 4-5 A/B+ prospects in Vlad Jr caliber thru 2017 draft and trade deadline deals, we'll have a good young core by 2020/2021.

We'll also have a boatload of payroll room at that time to acquire some free agents to complete the roster.

Our only big bad contract then will be Tulo.

Exciting future.

We could get something close to those 4-5 prospects at the deadline if we trade Donaldson, Liriano and Estrada IMO.

We aren't getting 4-5 Vlad level prospects in one draft. Maybe 1, or maybe 2. Possibly not at all.

We seem to like taking college pitchers (Zeuch and Harris) in round 1 and we have two picks in the mid 20s in this year.

All rebuild talk aside, I am quite excited to see what this team will look like in the future. We have some good players in the minors. Hopefully a 1-2 blossom into superstars and hopefully some can be above average. And then hopefully have a high enough budget to where we can fill in the rest of the gaps using free agency with proven players.

Cubs really did do it textbook. Nice young core in Bryant, Rizzo, Schwarber, Russell, Baez. And then use their budget to sign Lester, Zobrist, Heyward to build around them.
