TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I really thought these guys were gonna come out and mash against Miley, but I don't think this old roster can mash against anyone right now... Holy s*** do they look pathetic.
StubbinHub Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Here's the thing too.....Miley is a bottom 5 pitcher in the AL - a stiff. This was our game to take walks, put up good at bats, generate big innings and we did nothing.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 1-9 boys.... Shapiro didn't do nearly enough to improve the team. I think in some way he was hoping for a rebuild deep down. I think Shapiro is probably feeling pretty s***** about the results but at the same time IMO he's somewhat vindicated for not pouring a ton of cash and prospect capital in to trying to prop up this team for another run. Is overpaying Dexter Fowler and giving him a NTC really going to be the difference in this soon to be 1-9 start? Not a chance. We could have outspent everyone this offseason but it wouldn't have matter. Too many core players are sucking right now.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Because he's been a really good player when healthy. Platoon player right?
Yippy Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Sanchez velocity was down a few mph and he was throwing too much right down the middle of the plate

Holy s*** do they look pathetic. Mashing against s*** ballers is not something this team has been doing for a while.
Statman Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Platoon player right? He has been very good against LH pitching throughout his entire career. Yes, that is his strength.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Offense is old and tired. Time for a rebuild. Hate to say it, but i agree with you
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 What could Shapiro have done differently? Edwin had a 69 wRC+ heading into tonight. Fowler has a 40 wRC+. The core is old and declining. Now their best player is hurt. Nothing would have changed that. Pearce is s***ing the bed, but still like the signing. If he declines too, then so be it, but it made sense at the time.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Okay seriously, it's time for Chris Coghlan. What Travis is doing out there is unacceptable right now.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Travis is wincing and has a little limp now.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Why is Travis even out there To get the reps he didn't in the offseason and Spring Training...its not like Goins is going to do anything to make playing him a must
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 How can it all be going so wrong this is some serious ******** I think the truth is that everything went as right as it could last year and this team just barely sneaked into the playoffs. The offense was lacking spark last year and we lost arguably our best offensive player... Not to mention replacing Saunders with Pearce... That's a big downgrade right there alone.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 This Arash guy is terrible. No charisma.
Statman Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Martin is the worst player in baseball.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Martin needs to use a smaller bat. Looks like he's trying to swing a tree out there.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Seems like the window is closing.... 3-4 lean years coming up
Statman Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Seems like the window is closing.... 3-4 lean years coming up It is closed already.
Yippy Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 You have to be swinging at a close pitch like that martin
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I always thought Morales and Pearce and the rest were just filler, while the rebuild takes place Yeah, just a cheap stopgap to appease the base and fill a hole while the team inevitably reaches an impasse. It's f***ing weak. They could have at least did more in free agency to field a competitive product. I wish AA and Beeston were still running the show.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 We are going to win this game.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 you know the Jays suck when Pat and Buck talk about the Bruins vs Canadiens
