“In baseball you have to assume bad scenarios as well as good ones [will occur],” Keri said on Sportsnet 590 The FAN. “And you’ve already created, for no good reason, two horrible scenarios at two of your power positions, which really makes no sense.”

 

 

“The rumblings that have been made about Steve Pearce playing a bunch, let’s hope they come to fruition because I don’t like Justin Smoak, I don’t like their left-field situation,” said Keri, adding that those situations are “terrible.”

 

 

 

“Pearce needs to play, as much as possible in one or both positions, and then they need to figure out the other position.”

 

 

 

Its refreshing to hear someone say how bad our 1B and LF is. Every sportsnet reporter never acknowledges how bad it is

 

And it's so frustrating because with the abundance of 1B/LF options this offseason it would have been so easy to fill those two holes. If we miss the playoffs by a couple of games this year it's going to be pretty easy to point to those two positions and ask why they weren't addressed this offseason.

We didn't improve left field or first base and most systems are projecting us to get replacement value from there.

 

This is what is killing us.

 

Through out offseason you guys were saying wait and wait and see. Well Shatkins sat on their bums, and they wouldn't have even signed Bautista if the hand wasn't forced. Virtually they were like deer in headlights.

 

Encarnacion and Fowler should have been Bluejays along with Bautista and we could have been looking at a world series contender getting 6-7 WAR out of those two positions. Pearce could have DH'd

Even Arden Zwelling was saying it. Its Upton vs Goins basically. Even if they wanted Goins they should take Upton over Carrera. Upton can at least hit Lefties so you can platoon him with Smoak (Having Pearce split positions). Carrera just can't hit in general and I doubt he'd even get picked up at his salary.

We signed Chris Coghlan to a minor league deal... seemed to have a poor season last year but in 2015 he put up 3.3 war, why did no one else give him a chance? Did I miss an injury or something?
