I think when you break it down more people will agree. I think most people are hating on the deal because it's big money for a "relief pitcher". The value of relief pitching is at its all time high, and it's getting higher and higher year by year, this contract is just the first of many in that price range.

It's also the Yankees, they don't have a normal budget, they can afford to get the best players at each position. He's also only 28 and didn't cost a draft pick.

Educating the less informed in the end. That's why z3r0s is your biggest fan.

AND his least biggest fan! Don't forget those 'worst poster' and 'worst troll' votes.

I've got a very hot/cold relationship with Brownie.

Yeah and honestly, elite relievers like this really make hay in the playoffs, as we saw. 2.5 WAR in the reg season is great, but having Chapman/Miller/Jansen/Betances/Britton for a playoff run is almost priceless.

Only if you're not Buck Showalter.

I've got no comeback to that. One of the dumbest moves (or non moves rather) I've ever seen.

I'm an O's fan, is there some rule against having another team's player as an Avatar?

Oh I thought you were a Jays fan new to the board. If you're an O's fan that makes sense.

You're fine. Half the posts on this page are non-Toronto players anyway.

Nah, he just didn't know.

Ok, thanks guys. Figured that was the case but just wanted to make sure.

Well we also lost plenty of games early on in the season when Storen/Chavez/Cecil were f***ing up in the first half.

We were also very lucky that Biagini came out of nowhere and the scrap heap acquisitions of Grilli and Benoit worked out better than expected.

I meant in the playoffs. Grilli, Osuna, Biagini were very good, and I believe matched the Indians bullpen.

Jays rough up Tomlin and the rookie lefty guy, and no one is even talking how valuable Andrew Miller is.

Stick around, this is the best baseball forum on the internet.

Uhmmm... he's posted here for quite awhile now, and has made fun of Orioles Hangout.

Why would an Orioles fan sign up and post on a Blue Jays message board is the real question.

I post mainly on Oriole boards but every once in a while I enjoy conversing with other fans. Like I mentioned earlier I mainly just read the board as my 45 posts since I joined Mar. 2014 attests to. So it's not like I'm only a member of this board and posting all the time while not belonging to any Oriole fan website.

Whoa... a dignified O's fan who came here to talk baseball and not troll?

Who knew? :D . I guess all teams have some fans who do that type of stuff. Maybe there's a lot more than usual here because the Jays and O's are rivals and some fans and the players on each side don't like each other. I don't know, just a guess.

How would you feel if the Orioles signed Bautista? Do you want Trumbo back?

Yeah I get this. It's interesting to see the other side's perspective sometimes. Like when the Jays make a trade, I almost always check out other team's fan blogs to get their take. Plus this board gets a ton of a traffic and therefore there's a ton of conversation here, whether you're a Jays fan or just a baseball fan.

Also has a good sense of humour. He seems alright.

He has a Full NTC so you lose a lot of value on that. The final 2 years it is limited but I think I read he can't be traded to any team in California.

Sorry Oakland, no chapman for you

"7. BLUE JAYS

Because the Blue Jays added Kendrys Morales and Steve Pearce to a roster that already had Justin Smoak, it's somewhat hard to see a reunion, though the two sides have remained in contact. But should it really be that way? Morales and Encarnacion could split 1B and DH between them, and while that squeezes out Pearce somewhat, his ability to play five positions should get his bat into the lineup enough. That leaves Smoak without a job. That shouldn't be an issue for a team trying to win."

This , taken from MLB.COM, is exactly what I said two days ago.
