Has a player of Bautista's caliber ever had to wait until June? Off the top of my head, the only players to ever wait out the pick compensation are Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales. Somebody is going to sign him.

 

Closest I can recall is Roy Oswalt. Had a good year in 2011. Went into 2012 as a FA and didn't get anything he wanted, so he waited until May.

He was really particular about where he played if I remember correctly. Ended up with 52 WAR despite pretty much shutting things down at age 33-34.

Yeah I think he cared more about hunting than baseball. Still he had a fantastic career and was one of the best pitchers during that decade.

100% wrong on this one. A friend of a friend puked at Shoeless Joe's and they were (rightfully) going to kick him/us out. Longoria and Archer talked to the manager and said "they are with us" just because Nox and I were wearing Rays gear. We were allowed to stay as long as the one guy didn't drink. Longoria came over and thanked us for being fans.

 

Glad he did that. I never met him myself but just heard from more than a few people he's a dick.
