Trade for Conforto and Duda Travis 2nd Fowler RF JD 3rd Duda 1st Tulo SS Conforto LF Pearce DH Martin C Pillar CF BAM. We have balance, defense, versatility, more speed. THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Eddy Cecil Reddick/Fowler Pearce
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Cecil Fowler Duda (trade) EE
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Schwarber (trade) 1B/DH Cecil (Resigned) Holliday 1B/DH Reddick RF Logan Blanton Castro Would be a decent haul.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 For all of the people saying EE are you spending 100 Million to bring him back? I'd much rather get the pick and sign someone like Holiday or Beltran for a quarter of the price.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Schwarber (trade) 1B/DH Cecil (Resigned) Holliday 1B/DH Reddick RF Logan Blanton Castro Would be a decent haul. No way the Cubs trade Schwarber unless your giving up Sanchez/Stroman + Alford and maybe SRF. Just won't be worth it considering it'll be an overpay to get him

Just won't be worth it considering it'll be an overpay to get him They can't play him in LF everyday. I would trade Stroman and another high end prospect not named SRF for him. Wishful thinking anyway. If not Schwarber we need to look at a guy with a similar profile.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 1) Holliday or Beltran as a DH 2) Dexter Fowler 3) Brett Cecil 4) Neftali Feliz 5) Alex Avila 6) Trade for Lucas Duda 7) Coco Crisp

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Problem with Beltran is he doesn't want to play here. I wouldn't hate Pearce but want no part of Moss. I love Fowler but hes attached to a draft pick and I think he breaks the bank regardless.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Beltran Crisp Cecil Feliz We'll address a lot of our needs via trade in my opinion.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 What is every ones obsession with Reddick? This thread started as a prediction thread to what I want to happen thread. Good platoon bat. Friends with Donaldson. Decent fielder, and strong arm. Can play either corner. As long as he doesn't face lefties could get some great value at him. Mashes at Rogers Centre and played his best Baseball when the A's were good. He would make an excellent addition and wouldn't cost a s*** load either.
GoldBull Verified Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 1. Fowler 2. Holiday 3. Coghlan 4. Logan 5. Blanton edit: add Avila since we need a catcher.

I don't think the Blue Jays will be shelling out almost 400 Million in contracts this offseason.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 There just targets, you don't get them all..
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Problem with Beltran is he doesn't want to play here. I wouldn't hate Pearce but want no part of Moss. I love Fowler but hes attached to a draft pick and I think he breaks the bank regardless. Beltran didn't want to play here when there was still potential for him to not be a total clusterf*** on the outfield and the turf played a factor.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 There just targets, you don't get them all.. I don't understand why you're targeting a starting catcher? Rest looks fine but I don't see on any planet Edwin getting 5 years and 125 million. 25 million a year for a DH would be insane. Not even Boston would approach that number.

If he's finally ready to be a full time DH sign me up. But I have a feeling he will look at a place that will let him play Outfield just to get his bat in the lineup. Will see.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Here's my top targets: Edwin Encarnacion 5/125? Wilson Ramos 4/80? Mike Napoli 2/26? Matt Wieters 1/20? Neil Walker 3/40? Jose Bautista 3/70? Carlos Torres 3/25? Jon Niese 1/5? Tommy Milone 1/8? Hank Conger 2/6? A lot of weird here. Why Ramos? Team doesn't need a catcher as he just blew up his knee. Why Weiters? Why Walker? Travis... Why Niese and Milone? I don't see how they fit. That seems like crazy money for Torres.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I would take a day off work to masturbate if we got Schwarber but it's not going to happen.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 You think his value is up that much from a year ago? He's had seasons before where he's graded out as about average defensively, and season of 120-130 wRC+. He did both in 2016, but I don't think many teams have altered their perspective of him as a player. The market is a lot thinner this year, but going from 1/13 to 5/100 is a big jump. It would not shock me to see him get close to 5/100. He had a great year and he's probably one of the top 3 players on the market.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I would take a day off work to masturbate if we got Schwarber but it's not going to happen. It could definitely happen for the right package no pun intended.

Weiters is good player when he's playing. Walker could be insurance at 2b,1b,DH, LF? I can't look past Milone's #'s at AAA. 25 million for a guy with a very, very good cutter...and pitchability? Cheap Kenley.

What happens at catcher for the first 2-4 months when Ramos is recovering from surgery?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Is this a prediction thread or what we want to happen thread? Because a lot of this stuff mentioned seems pretty unrealistic (signing top free agents).
