I wanna know where the hell you guys live that you get no kids ringing your doorbell on halloween. We get 100 kids each year easily.

First residence past two cemeteries, just not worth the trouble.

What is it exactly? I know Halloween has some pagan origins, but it's basically secular. It's even weirder for Christians because the holiday pretty much originated in Europe.

From what I gathered from some people, it's the devils holiday/satanic representation. Mind you this is from some people's view who are Muslim, some people might vary or other religions might vary

As much as it's not my thing...that's a fantastic idea.

Just out of curiosity, is there an equivalent to the devil in Islam? There really aren't any practicing Muslims where I live or went to school, but I've always been curious.

Pretty sure that's Book of Mormon candy actually.

We gave out 2 kinds of peanut butter cups, Hershey bars, and Milky Ways here. Giving out candy in Philly is so annoying sometimes. Each area is incredibly different. I've lived in 8 parts of the city and have had 0 trick-or-treaters in 1 area and several hundred in an area less than a quarter mile away. We probably had about 2 dozen treaters last night.

The roommates and I had a lot of candy left over, and just two pieces this morning. :o

We haven't had kids regularly go out trick or treating for the past 5 years. In those 5 years I bet you in total there have been no more than 20 kids. Last year we had 0 kids. Last night we had 2.

I don't want to eat candy, so if there was a kid that came out at 11:00 I seriously would have given him almost half of the stuff we bought.

I feel bad though for the kids that all dress up and go trick or treating and then realize that there is no one else out there, or that none of the houses are handing our stuff.

Got 40 children at the door handed out little mini play dohs with a little chocolate. Something different.

its quite a shame the Legoland in Vaughan bans adults (unless accompanied by a child)

Er it's unacceptable? Dude half the lego toys I've seen are waaaaaay too complex for a kid to do on their own, there's like 1000 pieces. you can't tell me that wasn't designed for adults, or at least "Parents playing with their kids"

You would be surprised what my 6 year old friends and I could build with our legos.
