CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Last year for sure. That 9th inning in game 6, the homeplate ump had made some very questionable calls that ended up f***ing Navarro and Revere. And ultimately the team.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I think I found this year more frustrating. Last year I was just happy to be there. This year, especially after rolling through the Rangers, I thought we had a good chance to move on.
BlueJaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Royals blooped their way to victories and the announces woulnd't let go out their dicks.Don't forget how Joe Buck and Fox showed that graphic during Game 6 saying it would be a Mets-Royals World Series and how later on they realized their mistake. This was before the game was over and shortly after that mistake Bautista tied the game at 3-3.

Yes last season was a success getting to the playoffs and pushing the eventual WS champs to the 6th game of ALCS. The way game 6 ended was infuriating, but we were immediately able to look forward to building on that success this season. But, with essentially the same lineup and better starting pitching, the Jays barely squeaked into the playoffs and laid an egg offensively against a mediocre Tomlin in game 2, a patchwork in game 3 and a rookie with a mediocre 3.70 ERA in AAA and minimal innings at the MLB level in game 5. Getting shut out twice in 5 games including at home in game 5 - unacceptable. Also, Miller is VERY good, but not as good as the Jays made him look. And our pitching did the job well. I think Cleveland batted under .190 in the series and only scored 12 total runs. We should have won that series for sure.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 in 2015 fans built this belief in their head that the Jays were a team of destiny after the Texas series. Even now there is revisionist history, believing that somehow they deserved to beat KC. Forgetting that they lost 5-0, 6-3 and 14-2 before the 4-3 clincher. Yes the 6-3 game was just one lucky inning but outside of that inning KC led for much of the series
Yorkshire Blue Jay Verified Member Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 That inning in game 2 was crucial though, it changed the entire series onwards from that point - Price had retired 18 straight before Goins/Bautista allowed to popup to drop, we were cruising with a 3-0 lead, to leave KC level before the 3 straight home games would IMO have been the difference maker. From that point anything could have happened, as it was we crushed Cueto in game 3, like they did Dickey in game 4, then Estrada pitched his gem in game 5. Last year I could have envisaged us winning it all, this year, even if we had beaten Cleveland then I would have expected us to lose to the Cubs. that's another reason why 2015 hurts more!
