He's played like 10 games in LF and was so horrible the Rangers pulled the plug on that idea. I don't know how you can say he's a decent LF.

That would be nice. I wonder if we could get both for $13M AAV or under. If we could I would do it. Both should come with a short term to allow us to take our time with Rowdy.

 

Once he's ready I'd move Pearce to a corner OF platoon, and trade 1 of Morales/Thames.

It's unfortunate that we jumped in early and overpaid for a guy in the only position with a ton of depth. I don't mind Morales, but there are too many big bats and not enough openings. There will be great bargains later in the offseason.

I dont think they are done, I just think that we wont be seeing an impact name. Maybe Resign Cecil and add Sean Rodriguez and they will call that an offseason.

The FA market is so bad that absorbing Bruce's salary and hoping he has a Trumbo type of contract year might be more reasonable than signing free agents for multiple years. Slim pickings would be an understatement when describing the FA market. Trades would make sense but don't know if this regime wants to move prospects unless it's someone like Pompey.

For me I don't even care if we add on the position player side but we have to improve that bullpen. We can't go into another year blowong games early on

 

If we manage to get into the playoffs, which seems unlikely right now, we need those elite relievers to win

 

It must be an absolute priority to find the next Zach Britton Andrew Miller etc. Dont sign Cecil. Need to bring in as many failed starters as possible

Is this all based simply on a Morosi brainstorm tweet? I don't follow the guy and I'm seeing updates on my Twitter saying the team is actually looking into these guys. Seems like everyone's just passing around yet another Morosi musing.
