GodDonaldson Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 If I don't see him at the bottom of the line-up, I don't see this team winning a single game against the Indians. He left like 5 or 6 man on base tonight.... which is completely unacceptable.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 You know who else left guys on base? Bautista, Edwin, Travis, Saunders, etc. Cleveland pitched very well
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Despite the unnecessary thread most would agree that Tulo should be batting 5th tommroow maybe even Saunders 6th

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Despite the unnecessary thread most would agree that Tulo should be batting 5th tommroow maybe even Saunders 6th I'd put tulo 4 Bautista 5
GodDonaldson Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 Despite the unnecessary thread most would agree that Tulo should be batting 5th tommroow maybe even Saunders 6th This is my ideal lineup Carrera Donaldson Bautista Encarnacion Tulo Saunders Martin Pillar Travis (or Goins and Barney)
GodDonaldson Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 I'd put tulo 4 Bautista 5 I would go similar to last year, so Bautista 3 Tulo 5
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Martin didn't hit anything in the playoffs last year and is in a major slump now and Tulo is a run producer .....There is no reason that tulo should not be hitting 5th..
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 This is my ideal lineup Carrera Donaldson Bautista Encarnacion Tulo Saunders Martin Pillar Travis (or Goins and Barney) Agreed..now go tell the manager
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Too bad our dumb hick manager is probably too stubborn to make the obvious change. We will have to hope that the offense heats back up again in spite of Gibbons.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Is a thread really necessary? It didn't make a difference. Tulo has been average at best lately as well.

Our dumb hick manager didn't give away two free outs today and managed to not use a 'pen arm when I thought they should have. You hate him because of the way he looks and talks. You mention it in every post. At least admit it.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Put Bautista at lead off and Tulo at clean up. Problem solved.

He could be the ugliest person in the world with the most obnoxious accent and it wouldn't matter if only he were competent.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Tulo has been good, and no reason why he shouldn't at least bat 5th, if not 4th. He has both the Power and Hitting. If both EE and JB walk next year, Tulo is easily the cleanup hitter in this lineup. Martin has power, but he's just been cold since September. Tulo has had way better quality at bats in the post season, especially against pitchers that don't easily walk guys. To be fair, this lost wasn't on Martin, they had ample opportunities to score runs and failed to do so collectively. Travis' double play ball could've been 2 runs. Kluber also hung several pitches that easily could've been homers, with men on base too. The umpire wasn't helping the hitters at all, on both sides. There were Too many strikeouts without even swinging the bat, hoping the Ump would bail them out. s*** happens, get em next game
admin Site Manager Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I'd put tulo 4 Bautista 5 That's a good suggestion. WHy Martin is #5 I have no idea.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 https://twitter.com/jonahkeri/status/787132465966002176 Gibby is allergic to adjustments. 7/67 hits and somehow Martin is still in the 5th spot. That's batting .104
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I do not see any reason for hitting Martin above Tulo.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Put Bautista at lead off and Tulo at clean up. Problem solved. Not saying that's wrong, but we prob still get shut out out yesterday regardless
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I do not see any reason for hitting Martin above Tulo. Martin has a slightly higher 2016 obp, and career road obp. One could argue Martin gets on base "slightly" more. Not saying it's enough, but it is a small point in favour of Martin.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 It really is senseless to continue batting Martin ahead of Tulo.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Lmao@ Gibby's "if it ain't broke don't fix it explanation Is it broken now then? If Martin could just get back to his opposite field approach rather than selling out for pull power, he'd be fine. I think they'll wreck tomlin today though
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Based on the numbers Martin had a horrible start and then sustained a period where his wRC+ was elite. He has been bad again for weeks. Looks to me like he is pulling off good pitches he needs to hit fair, and its been a long time since we have seen him let the ball travel and drive the ball to RCF. He looks like he is trying to yank everything and rolling over on ball after ball. Id like to see him hitting 7th or 8th, and if he gets it going then great. Tulo needs to move up and protect Jose.

That oppo field approach he had at the beginning of the season just made him lose all his power and the strikeouts never really went away
