Dee Gordon just hit a leadoff home run and rounded the bases in tears.

 

You just can't f***ing make this s*** up. Baseball has to be the most fairytale sport there is, look at what happened in Vin Scully's last game!

 

Edit: Side note, did you guys see Barry Bonds? Holy f***, that guy's in better shape than I'll ever be!

Still no. He gave up another six runs after that, so it's safe to say he just wasn't good tonight and that was one of those special baseball moments.

Acooring to Passan's article his friend was urging them not to go out on the boat repeatedly because he thought something bad would happen. f*** that makes it so much more sad.

Oh jeez, this story just keeps getting tougher to swallow. I'm sure it would be of precious little comfort but at least that friend will always know that he tried.

His girlfriend might never forgive herself if the story about them having an argument at the bar is true. Assuming, Jose and his friends took the boat out after that altercation just to let off a little steam. Just terrible.

Yo what I don't get is the whole "keep Jose cool" text. The caption said something along the lines of begging his friend (not Jose but one do the other 2) not to go as if Jose was pissed and was going to do something out of emotion.

 

I really don't like speculating stuff so I won't guess what happened but this is the 3rd time i see the picture and all 3 times that text jumps out at me. Maybe it's because every time I've a "keep ____ cool" text means I'm not able to come prevent ____ from doing something stupid/reckless so you make sure he doesn't. But maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Yeah that would be so tough to live with, even if it so happened that she really wasn't at fault in terms of causing or starting the argument.

 

I remember at my sister's wedding my aunt advice was that you should never part ways or even go to sleep when you're mad at the one you love, take the time to sort it out. I guess this incredibly sad story is an example of why that holds true.

it's that old proverb of thinking if this is the last time you talk to someone what do you want them to remember.

 

My kids get to hear that I love them almost every time we talk. They are both in their 20s but I still like to end with I love you because you never know...

That's great and hopefully something that is ingrained in them if/when they have kids of their own.

Colon was down 2-0 in the count to Gordon and didn't want to walk the leadoff hitter who's a stolen base threat, so he gave him something to hit.

So based on the instagram post from the friend of the friend, Jose was pretty mad about something and his friend was going to help him cool down.

 

You must wonder if he went out boating while drunk (they were at a club)
