when you need runs you may sometimes put the ball in play and shorten your HR swing

and before the game he basically called Gibbons a retard for not having Saunders in the lineup. Right and right you are Zaun.

That's it?
Gregg is calling for situational management, you won't ask your big bats to shorten the swing most of the time or bunting, the problem with the Jays is that other than aiming for HR and taking big swings they seem to have no other strategy, they can win by a lot of runs but have trouble in close games

I'm totally done with "old school" managers (Gibbons) or players (Zaun) who don't keep up with the advancements of the game. Get with the times you slugs.

But gibbons doesn't do anything dumb!!!!! /s

f***ing joke. Called it from the beginning of the season, he's f***ing terrible. We win, you ignore the stupid mistakes he makes. But when we lose, you notice even more how terrible he is. f***ing embarrasing how this guy can have a job. I don't care if you win, he's makes mistakes little league coaches wouldn't make. If I was Atkins, and Gibbons put Navarro in as DH and cleanup, I would have fired him that night.

He's not a good manager but he's not really the reason we lost today. Stroman hanging an 0-2 curve is part of it. So is our offense being so inept against another mediocre pitcher. Gibbons made some dumb moves, some of them worked out though - starting Zeke actually worked out for the most part.

Could Gibbons be the difference between missing the playoffs or not? Who knows. I'm on board with bringing in a new manager next year though. Not sure who exactly but Bud Black wouldn't be bad.

Bud Black's a great pick. Wish we could have pried away Tito when we had the chance before the end of 2015. As long as the solution isn't Eric Wedge, since he's very much a step backwards.

The only way we are sweeping the Red Sox at Fenway is if they clinch early and play the bench.

Jays sweep at fenway lol

I'm extremely, extremely, extremely confident in saying that we'd eventually have the same complaints and the same discussions regarding Bud Black. Fans are never happy with their manager and thry always think they have the worst one (including Giants, Orioles, Indians, etc.).

The fact is that Gibby is decidedly better than guys like Farrell, Bannister, and Yost, but look where those teams have been in recent years. I'm not pro or against firing him, but to think it will improve our performance in any way, shape, or form is a massive pipe dream.

Jays and O's tied for the WC with 3 teams within 2.5 games (NYY/DET 2 games back and SEA 2.5).

Man, I thought the WC was the worst case, but not making it at all is a distinct possibility with the way these guys are playing. On one hand, anything that makes firing Gibbons more likely is fine with me, but damn let's not waste JB and EE's last seasons here (assuming they don't come back).

This is what happens when you live and die on the home run ball to win games, nothing to see here kids.

Works well enough for Baltimore

The Orioles refuse to die. And yes the Yanks and Tigers are right there. The Tigers actually have a pretty easy schedule from here on out. Missing the WC is very possible.

I don't even understand how the Orioles are still in contention. They have the most "feast or famine"/homerun or nothing offence, and their starting pitching is absolute trash.

Most teams have mediocre pitching staffs by definition. They struggle to deal with the O's relentless power. The O's amazing back-end bullpen maintains a huge number of leads too.

The Jays would be a mile ahead of them if the lineup performed correctly and if 10-11 losses weren't hung on Cecil and Storen alone. The O's good features have picked up their bad parts well while the Jays' record seems to accurately reflect how they've performed (a month of s***, four of high quality play, and the last two weeks of s***).

There are 7 straight games with Seattle (2.5 back) and NY (2 back) coming up....

The end point could really be fan apprecation day, there is some irony there.

We love you fans, we appreciate you fans, without you we couldn't do it...

Now watch and eat popcorn as your Tonronto Blue Jays get eliminated against the exciting Baby Bomberssss!!!!!!!

Yes guys - This place is realy dead... really dead.

Yes guy 2 - did you know tickets were going on stubhup for under price?? I mean they still have a bit of a shot!, not great but only 3 back for the second wild card.
