Governator Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I still listen to the Jay & Dan podcast (Though I really hate their sound effects too). I miss those guys on sportscentre and barely watch sports highlight shows since they left. Onrait is one of the funniest to me.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 The Sportsnet radio lineup is pretty boring. Not a fan of Brady & Walker and Jeff Blair is the most boring person to listen. As much I enjoyed listening to PTS back in the day, it really has been heading downwards in terms of missing some key co-hosts like Stephen Brunt & John Shannon which made for interesting dialogue and conversations. Mike Zeisberger and Damien Cox are pretty bad. As well, when someone like Jeff Blair hosts the show, it's 3 hours of torture. Stephen Brunt is the only reason to tune into the fan (unless listening to the Jays game).
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Tim and Sid are hilarious. No idea how anyone could dislike them. I thought even the snobs from this board would find them acceptable. They are very entertaining and both work real well together. They might not be the most knowledgable, though they both engage in interesting discussion and debate. They always have great guests on the show, which is a plus. As well, they are quite funny and definitely have attracted a younger following, whereas PTS hasn't really done that over the years. I used to watch/listen to PTS a lot when Brunt was a co-host, though now I'll watch Tim & Sid before PTS based on the reasons above.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) Can't stand either for that matter..... Canada lack good baseball reporting Shi Davidi and BNS are really the only ones that you can get a good story out of... Other then that there are just guys jumping on the bus. Stephen Brunt deserves a mention. His stories on Edwin and Osuna were fantastic. Edited September 1, 2016 by THANOS

admin Site Manager Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Dont' like those guys and wasn't going to watch it, but it came on when I was at the gym today and I thought it was pretty funny. He knows what he's doing, trying to get something going with Texas.

Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Surprised people here bashing Tim and Sid, they put on a good show imo, entertaining, lighten up geez lol. As for the rangers, they are idiots, they were cocky and showing off all ALDS when things were going there way, their anger should be directed at their Defense and their choking in the 7th. A bunch of hypocritical cry babies. To each there own....i find them childish and boring. And those idiotic sound effects............grrrrr Growing older doesn't mean you need to be a serious stick in the mud 24/7, lighten up.

They need deathly serious reporting at all times. They're not journalists. They have a good sense of humour and joke around... The backdrop of their show happens to be sports. They're harmless... And if you're looking for them to be knowledgeable and have profound insight then you're not their target audience. All this said, I don't watch their show. I did like them when they were on the FAN from 1-4. Edited September 3, 2016 by Krylian

TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 On the Odor/Bautista front, since the punch Odor has a .503 Slugging percentage (42 points above his career numbers), Jose .471. I think the Jays need Jose to punch someone to get his power back

vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I liked them on Score Tonight 10 years ago. Same, it seems like they're trying to hard. It's gone away from being a sports show with humour to a sideshow about sports. To each their own of course. And sometimes I do listen to them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Jeff Bannister was just on MLB Network. When discussing Elvis Andrus pimping a home run last night he says "when you hit a ball that far, you should be allowed to admire it and get to watch where it lands"

If only the reporter had the stones to bring it up.

I don't think he even believes that garbage, just picking up for his cry baby Rangers.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I hope the Jays meet the Rangers in the playoffs again this year. If I'm Bautista and I'm able to lead off a game with a homer, I'd not only do another bat flip...I'd come around the bases, dig up home plate...and flip that too.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 He is right, though. f*** the Rangers, buncha pussies. Couldn't agree more. We all know what happened but the guy did a bat flip in a really controversial and heated playoff elimination game after he hit a home run. Chickenshits then beaned him in the last game of the season. Similar to the Orioles who have beaned or tried to bean Bautista and then he hits a homer the next pitch and they start crying about it.
