West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 That is so crazy to read. I won $1,100 on him in Vegas. He made me very happy. He pitched a 2 hit shutout if I remember correctly. Same game? I am not too sure, it was vs Cincinnati I think.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Weren't you freaking out just 2 hours ago saying that the front office sucked and we wouldn't have another playoff run until 2030? Before this Hutch trade, yes.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 In the media world pricing and costing should not a have a correlated relationship Pricing should be driven by market not what you have spent. Even if they only spend $50 mil on payroll they should still charge what the market is willing to pay. It is an independent analysis and to think otherwise is an incompetent viewpoint I'll pay whatever the price is, if I want to go. You'll never hear me complain about ticket prices.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I wasn't localizing the issue. But the same fans who say "spend, it's not my money." And a few months later that extra $10 a ticket causes them to have a seizure is beyond ridiculous. No argument there
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Joe Sheehan @joe_sheehan The league should really step in on this #pirates trade. It's embarrassing. Wow, a guy in Sheehan's position should not be making a tweet like that.

Wouldn't reveal firm plan beyond Friday. #BlueJays #MLB
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Wow, a guy in Sheehan's position should not be making a tweet like that. He's commenting on the pirates dumping salary while they receive max revenue sharing and potentially extra picks in the draft every year. It's a valid point of view
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Zaun flapping his lips too much on Tim & Sid, saying the clubhouse is going into disarray because Sanchez goes to the BP...
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Zaun flapping his lips too much on Tim & Sid, saying the clubhouse is going into disarray because Sanchez goes to the BP... Do you smell that? It's your Sunday roast. *plays with his rings on his fingers and smirks*

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Weren't people saying the same about the Marlins trade? Yea but that ended up working well for the Marlins. The chance of this working out for the Pirates hinges on Hutch becoming significantly better than what hes projected to be. Which is a quality 4th starter.

He's not talking negatively, he's trying to entice a problem. He just said the FO cares more about Sanchez than Stroman because they're letting Stroman go

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 So Liriano, Feldman, Bolsinger, Reese McGuire and Harold Ramirez for hutch and chavez x2? Good day.

wamco Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Great beard, good looking guy who competes. What's not to love? Met him last week and got his autograph. Was really nice . Colabello was hilarious as well. Wish them both well. 2017 not looking necessarily doom and gloom

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I remember the year Liriano came out on the scene I thought he would win multiple Cy Young's. He was virtually unhittable
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 1-Reid Foley 2-Ureña 3-HalRam 4-McGuire 5-Alford 6-Vladdy Pompey is not considered a prospect anymore? Also, Tellez ahead of Vladdy Jr.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 On an average night at the dome Rogers makes between $5 - $6 million on ticket sales, merch, food, drinks... not including TV revenue. There's a lot of costs that bring that figure way down. For starters, we pay 31% of our local net revenue into the revenue sharing pool. On top of that, because we're one of the 15 biggest markets we're disqualified from RECEIVING any of that pooled revenue (we do get refunded a portion of it though I believe, probably half). Merchandise sales go into a central distributed fund, and food/drinks is managed by a 3rd party on a fixed contractual basis I believe. There's also all the staff we have to pay.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 1-Reid Foley 2-Ureña 3-HalRam 4-McGuire 5-Alford 6-Vladdy That's pretty solid actually
