Everyone should have tempered expectations. The guy is a half-season rookie coming back after almost a year off.

 

That said, what I've seen so far suggests he can be not only a solid player but a legit staple in the lineup. Should be an excellent complementary piece for when the big bats decide to start squaring up their contact.

Injuries many times changes the playing field. We'll see if Travis is ready or not.

.200? If he can do anything other than ground out he is miles ahead. Goins is a good glove but he is a fragile bat.

Barney is what he is, an all-glove no-bat utility infielder that will likely have a decently long career as a backup bouncing around baseball. Every team could use a guy like Barney, as long as he's cheap and doesn't have to play full time.

 

He's sure as hell not someone you give a starting job to just because of age and "veteran-ness", when you have obviously superior options avalable to you. His incredibly babip fueled batting average shouldn't be fooling anybody into thinking he's suddenly a full time player

He seems to have the yips or something in spring training last year. Possibly nerves. Was fine once the game started counting. Zaun is really reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaching to create controversy on this one.
