Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I keep looking at this and laughing all over again. It's also reminded me of his AMA that someone once linked me to that had this gem: Hi, Jose. Just one thing. My best friend in the world is an amazing guy. He's the best father and husband I've ever known to his wife and son. He's the only friend I've ever had that's never stabbed me in the back in the near 16 years that I've known him. Why am I telling you this? Because you're his hero. You always have been. He has spent so much money on your cards and other memorabilia that he probably could have put a few kids through college with it. It would mean the world to me if you could just acknowledge this post and say something to my best friend Brad. It would make his year. Thank you, Mr. Canseco His response: brad what a bad boy u have become lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Also on Matt Bush... Some of you idiots are claiming he's "a changed man" and "deserves a second chance" Well he just drilled a guy in the ribs with a fastball in his 2nd major league game. He's still a piece of s***. Easy man... lol. Uhmm... maybe his manager told him to?
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 So how many games does Odor get? You have to think that a (mostly) unprovoked clean right hook to the face is something MLB will want to discourage. Could be a long one.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Did I miss something, or was this still all about that bat flip from 7 months ago? Only thing beyond the bat flip was not saying the bat flip was wrong. That was the one comment I kept hearing from players and Rangers fans for a couple weeks the Bat Flip.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 a. Only time will tell if he's a changed man or not. He's paid his debt to society and he's getting a fresh start. Time will tell whether he f***s it up or not but as a society, we should be rooting for his rehabilitation not endlessly condemning for a crime whose punishment he's already served. b. The beaning was obviously Bannister's call and Bush had no leverage to refuse him. If you want to use this as another excuse to pile on Bush go ahead but it's completely gratuitous on your part. Well put, double K.

We should do a form/poll like this and everyone guess. Odor: Bush: Bautista: Donaldson: Pillar: Chavez: Gibbons: Who else could be added?
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Odor doesn't deserve a longer suspension than Barrett did. Can't watch at work, but didn't Barrett hit his own teammate?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Can't watch at work, but didn't Barrett hit his own teammate? The video I posted if from when Barrett punched AJP after a collision at home. AJP was the runner.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Marty York is a very stupid man. Indeed.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 The video I posted if from when Barrett punched AJP after a collision at home. AJP was the runner. AJP did shoulder him beforehand provoking things further. Odor pushed Bautista back so he could step in to the punch and level him. He also kinda sort of threw a baseball at his head... Odor should get 15 games at min.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I hope we play the Rangers in the playoffs, and Bautista hits a series winning walkoff homerun and f***ing chucks his bat right in the Rangers dugout, does the DX crotch chop as he's crossing home plate, and calls them gutless in the post game interview. lol
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Good question. We should do a form/poll like this and everyone guess. Who else could be added? Odor: 10 games for the punch Bush: 0 games because no warning was in place when he plunked Bautista Bautista: 0 games because he got hit by a pitch and punched in the face, all he did was make a hard slide and didn't even touch Odor Donaldson: 0 games because he didn't even throw a punch Pillar: 0 games because he was held back Chavez: Probably 1 game for intentionally hitting Prince after warning Gibbons: Probably 2-3 games for coming on the field after being ejected Jeff Bannister should be suspended too because he obviously orchestrated some of this, but that would be impossible to prove so I'm guessing he gets 0 games and continues to sit on the bench with his resting douche face.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Can't watch at work, but didn't Barrett hit his own teammate? He did that too. Zambrano while they were teammates; but he also punched AJP.

It'll be interesting that's for sure, Bautista might get a healthy suspension on that slide as well. There's been no precedent since the new rule has been in place(slide rule), so I can't even guess correctly.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 my post had nothing to do with what Matt Bush did on the field. It's him as a human being... The guy he hit forgave him. He's got a contract that says if he drinks again he loses his contract. If he does things now, I think people should be judged by how they work with their mistakes, he's got a chance to put himself in a teaching role, and says he is going to take that opportunity. So I don't see it the same as you. I'm okay with the people hating him, but I wish people would stop calling him crazy.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 It'll be interesting that's for sure, Bautista might get a healthy suspension on that slide as well. I wonder if Bautista being a repeat offender will factor in. He seems unable to grasp the new rules.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Dyson? He floored Martin. didn't Dyson end up with blood?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I wonder if Bautista being a repeat offender will factor in. He seems unable to grasp the new rules. Yeah, I just edited my post, I have no idea.

When Sanchez got three games for hitting Escobar after a warning they said that is the minimum they give for post warning HBP. I'd like to say that they should give whatever coach it was that was pumping up the crowd when Bush came to the dugout.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I wonder if Bautista being a repeat offender will factor in. He seems unable to grasp the new rules. Nah... I'm pretty sure he grasped the rule and violated it on purpose this time.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 didn't Dyson end up with blood? Bullpen catcher Andreopoulos, hit Dyson after Martin was levelled.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Bullpen catcher Andreopoulos, hit Dyson after Martin was levelled. Well good then because what the hell did Martin do to deserve that? Also, with all apologies to Andeopoulos, bullpen catchers are expendable and should have the real catcher's back so I'm glad he stepped in.
Praxis Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I cannot believe how many people are defending Odor. This guy: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v515660383/laatex-odors-slide-spikes-giavotella-at-second
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I believe the incompetent umpires feel that way too. Umpires are supposed to intervene when a scrum happens. This time the ump watched Odor clock Bautista and instead of breaking them up he just walked away as soon as the punch was landed. I thought that was VERY strange behavior from the ump. The ump threw Bautista to the wolves, luckily Beltre stepped in. They don't like him either it seems. Why would they like him? He constantly shows them up, bitching about strikes etc. He doesn't respect them at all. He is part of the breed of player, trying to be bigger than the game. Look at his contract demands. Saying the team already got a discount. He is a good player but a poor leader. Once he is out of here, JD and TT will lead this team the right way.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Odor's late slide & exact same shove/punch combo when he was in A ball:

This guy: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v515660383/laatex-odors-slide-spikes-giavotella-at-second I think it has to due that it is Jose Bautista that is getting punched - the one who is universally disliked by opposing players, umpires and fan bases all around baseball. I don't see it as others defending him, more that is retribution that was long time coming.
