a. Only time will tell if he's a changed man or not. He's paid his debt to society and he's getting a fresh start. Time will tell whether he f***s it up or not but as a society, we should be rooting for his rehabilitation not endlessly condemning for a crime whose punishment he's already served.

b. The beaning was obviously Bannister's call and Bush had no leverage to refuse him. If you want to use this as another excuse to pile on Bush go ahead but it's completely gratuitous on your part.

AJP did shoulder him beforehand provoking things further. Odor pushed Bautista back so he could step in to the punch and level him. He also kinda sort of threw a baseball at his head... Odor should get 15 games at min.

I hope we play the Rangers in the playoffs, and Bautista hits a series winning walkoff homerun and f***ing chucks his bat right in the Rangers dugout, does the DX crotch chop as he's crossing home plate, and calls them gutless in the post game interview.

Bautista: 0 games because he got hit by a pitch and punched in the face, all he did was make a hard slide and didn't even touch Odor

Donaldson: 0 games because he didn't even throw a punch

Pillar: 0 games because he was held back

Chavez: Probably 1 game for intentionally hitting Prince after warning

Gibbons: Probably 2-3 games for coming on the field after being ejected

 

Jeff Bannister should be suspended too because he obviously orchestrated some of this, but that would be impossible to prove so I'm guessing he gets 0 games and continues to sit on the bench with his resting douche face.

It'll be interesting that's for sure, Bautista might get a healthy suspension on that slide as well. There's been no precedent since the new rule has been in place(slide rule), so I can't even guess correctly.

my post had nothing to do with what Matt Bush did on the field. It's him as a human being...

 

The guy he hit forgave him. He's got a contract that says if he drinks again he loses his contract. If he does things now, I think people should be judged by how they work with their mistakes, he's got a chance to put himself in a teaching role, and says he is going to take that opportunity. So I don't see it the same as you. I'm okay with the people hating him, but I wish people would stop calling him crazy.

I believe the incompetent umpires feel that way too. Umpires are supposed to intervene when a scrum happens. This time the ump watched Odor clock Bautista and instead of breaking them up he just walked away as soon as the punch was landed. I thought that was VERY strange behavior from the ump. The ump threw Bautista to the wolves, luckily Beltre stepped in. They don't like him either it seems.

 

Why would they like him? He constantly shows them up, bitching about strikes etc. He doesn't respect them at all. He is part of the breed of player, trying to be bigger than the game. Look at his contract demands. Saying the team already got a discount. He is a good player but a poor leader. Once he is out of here, JD and TT will lead this team the right way.

I think it has to due that it is Jose Bautista that is getting punched - the one who is universally disliked by opposing players, umpires and fan bases all around baseball.

 

I don't see it as others defending him, more that is retribution that was long time coming.
