Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Oh my god, this guy's interviews are a riot. What the hell is he doing LOL. From yesterday: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/biagini-gets-little-weird-postgame/ And then today on TSN radio at 5:30: (26:30 mark of Hour 2, OverDrive May 5 2016 show) https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/tsn-1050-overdrive-hour-2/id679367618?i=1000368129474&mt=2 Or another link but audio is not working for some reason.: http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/video/biagini-on-social-media-first-win~863720 I don't know if this is an act or not, but my goodness. Hayes asked him if he was homeschooled LOL. I think this is the first thread I've created here, but I had to share. Edited May 6, 2016 by Inklink added link
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Nah, he's just trying to be funny, and some of the stuff is hit and miss. Seems like an OK guy, he's just trying a little too hard.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I don't think he's that funny tbh but at least he's trying. These interviews are usually a bore.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The Jays always reserve one spot for a fringe player to act like the clown. Rajai (though his may have been from legit lack of intelligence), Kawasaki and now this dude!
Jonzo Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Omg, an athlete with a little personality!

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 He should take jokes classes with TheHurl . He lacks spontaneity
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Lmao Reminds me of that one Jays talk caller in 2009 who called vernon Wells unintelligent and illiterate
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Did he learn from Brian Wilson in SF?
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I felt awkward just watching this lol The problem is that he's not funny.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The problem is that he's not funny. It would be more entertaining (I mean entertaining at all) if he cut the just kidding part. If he could dead pan his "It's a bit more difficult than little league" and move on it would be hilarious.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I think he's trying way too hard. No one actually laughs, you just kind of can't look away.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Did he learn from Brian Wilson in SF? Nah Brian Wilson is totally committed to his bit. Biagini just likes to throw in a joke every now and then which he clearly telegraphs as jokes. Otherwise, he mostly gives the kind of straight answers anyone else would give. I guess by normal sports interviews standards, he is mildly amusing and that's good but it's not nearly as strained or as weird as people are making it out to be.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Nah Brian Wilson is totally committed to his bit. Oh 100%. He's developed a persona and shows up in character every time.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I love Biagini. I don't feel like he's trying too hard to be funny... just seems like he has a sarcastic / half-hearted sense of humour and maybe he deals with nerves by cracking jokes. MLB rookie nervous in every interview, so the flat jokes just pour out instinctually. I think he's hilarious though
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I think he's hilarious though It's solid dad humour.
Psi Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 He's eccentric and going to get beat up by his peers.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 This guy is my new favourite Blue Jay.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 He's eccentric and going to get beat up by his peers. Lol wtf

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 f***ing Fat Face Storen!! Edit:. Wrong thread. But f*** him anyway!
polar bear Verified Member Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Another quirky interview yesterday, asked how many family and friends were coming to see him pitch. I've burnt some bridges,I don't know how many will show up,he's got some friends from high school, college, and church, and homeless people he's made friends with over the years.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 I do kinda wish that fingerpainting was actually part of his warmup routine.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 It's solid dad humour. I was talking to my girlfriend about the psychological development of dad humour the other day. When do men start doing it? I think it's around the same age most people decide watching Netflix at home in pajamas and falling asleep by 11 is more fun than going out to bars and drinking all night. I'm open to other perspectives though.
