Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Storen actually had a good inning. 2 weak flies, 2 ground balls, struck out Papi. Shaw hit him hard but the location on that pitch actually wasn't even that bad. The Sox just BABIP'd him.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Uhh yeah dude, I go a few times a year. http://i.imgur.com/AhIHa8a.jpg Did you google that?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Sox are tough, man. Good split. Hopefully a big inning against Koji and Kimbrel is the kickstarter for the offence.
jays76 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Phew, Storen scared the s*** out of me there.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Holy f***. Gg but damn, Storen blows.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Did you google that? Yeah I googled a photo of me and my wife, with a dude that looks like me that is wearing a Texas shirt which is where I am from but yeah you're right google reverse image search that s*** like Catfish and see what you got hah
xposbrad Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Still don't understand why we traded for Storen instead of signing Clippard
youngtea Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Gibbons risked it and we barely won. We obviously need more help in a few places on this roster. LF, Backup C and bullpen x 2. So yeah our roster so far stinks.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Still don't understand why we traded for Storen instead of signing Clippard Clippard is probably worse

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Not a pretty win, can we please not allow Storen in on tight situations

He seems to be missing his spots with noticeably worse stuff which is not a good recipe.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 So why would Gibby use Osuna yesterday if he knew he wouldn't use him the next day regardless of leverage? I know he warmed yesterday, but he surely would have been available today had he warmed and not pitched yesterday. The bigger question: why was Osuna unavailable today after pitching yesterday?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Chavez should really be used in high leverage situations. Like last night.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Still don't understand why we traded for Storen instead of signing Clippard We didn't have any budget.....

He warmed up on Saturday too. That is the real terrible decision in this entire situation.
Praxis Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 A great win and back to .500! I still believe in Storen, let's give him some more time before we write him off completely in high leverage situations.
93 Jays Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Obviously he was sick or fatigued or something. He's sitting in the dugout. Could have just woke up funny, or maybe he had the "flu". The game was at 11 a.m. after all. maybe gibby needed help sucking on that bag of dicks?
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I hope this is the last time the Jays are at .500 for the rest of the season

I know he warmed yesterday, but he surely would have been available today had he warmed and not pitched yesterday. The bigger question: why was Osuna unavailable today after pitching yesterday? All good questions. I was and am fine with Osuna in yesterday's game, but I'm not sure why he was suddenly unavailable for today. Sure it's a morning game but the time off between games is still longer than a night-day set. Unless Osuna needed today for some reason, I'd say Gibby was just "getting guys in", as he tends to.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Feels good to get these last two wins. Seems like we aren't playing well at all but we are 7-7. The starting pitching has been really good which is an encouraging sign.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Clippard is probably worse Nah, I like Clippard, he's pretty reliable and consistent over the past couple of years. I would have dumped Revere for a prospect. Storen makes 2m more than Clippard.

I know he warmed yesterday, but he surely would have been available today had he warmed and not pitched yesterday. The bigger question: why was Osuna unavailable today after pitching yesterday? I don't get it, Storen pitched yesterday, and he had Chavez warming in the pen alongside Osuna, Chavez should've been in the game yesterday with a 4 run lead. Mind boggling.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 The bottom line is that our bullpen just needs to be better. Are we really going to need perfect decision making from the manager for 4 run leads and 3 run leads? Put a guy in and get some outs for f*** sake. If our bullpen is just Cecil and Osuna for 162 games then forget it. Not even 10 win Buck Showalter can manage that. fortunately though, our bullpen has the stuff to be effective - Chavez and Floyd particularly. I'm not excited about Venditte (against righties) or Storen, though.

I know he warmed yesterday, but he surely would have been available today had he warmed and not pitched yesterday. The bigger question: why was Osuna unavailable today after pitching yesterday? Poor decision making at it's finest. Chavez was warming up yesterday as well and could've been used. I think they made Osuna unavailable to safeguard him after yesterday's debacle, mainly maybe to protect his confidence more than overuse. Everything could've severely backfired today. I think sometimes Gibby throws caution to the wind and just says f*** it I'm gonna roll the dice.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) I want to believe that Gibbons has been hamstrung by minor ailments among the relievers. And I understand why they don't let the media (and therefore other teams) know about those sorts of problems. I don't want to think he's as bad at managing a bullpen as it would appear on the surface. Edited April 18, 2016 by G-Snarls

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 don't forget our best starter will be moved to the bullpen for the stretch run just noted the 2nd highest OBP is Smoak at .389....
