King Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I don't get it After the Jays lost to the Indians on Canada day, he tweeted that picture and a few USA flag emoji. Then he spent hours replying to angry blue jays fans with crying emoji, fire emoji and "LOLOLOLOL" "dawggggg". Trolling, really.
ChrisS Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Bauer is just trolling and having fun. He has said over twitter that the Jays are a good team and he loves playing them because our fans make it fun.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Lol Bauer is funny. Its baseball, stop taking his playful trolling so seriously. It's pretty comical when Toronto fans make fun of the "USA" chants yet they wave their flags everywhere

Caper Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Was the game tying home run yesterday fair or foul? Or too hard to tell?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Was the game tying home run yesterday fair or foul? Or too hard to tell? Can't be certain but Ramirez and Martin reacted as if it were clearly foul. It looked that way on the replay too but the angle sucked.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If the Jays are playing on Monday the 10th, can anyone tell me what time that game will be at?

Yorkshire Blue Jay Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) You must be a new jays fan, or have short memory or something. What are you talking about? Who won the division last year? We did. Start times? Game 1 - Thursday October 8, 2015 3:37 p.m Game 2 - Friday October 9, 2015 12:45 p.m As for your other comment -- If we don't advance, Baltimore advance and they're a small market team. So whoever wins the AL WC you have either a Canadian team or a small-market team. No **american** big market teams. So yes it absolutely has to do with the Jays being Canadian. FOH you're telling me if the Yankees won a WC spot they'll play them at 1pm?? New fan hahaha! Wah wah wah it's because we are Canadian! Is it, is it really? Let me help you out here...... It is simply because Boston gets better ratings than Texas, us or Baltimore - nothing to do with who are the division winners! If the Jays had been slated to play Boston in the ALDS (by them getting the no.1 seed) this year, we would have been the later games. Last year the games were scheduled at this time and we were the early game again - correct! ... you are saying it is because we are Canadian. You seem to forget that hosting the WC game last year was none other than the Yankees, so they were, surprise surprise, scheduled to be the later of the first 2 ALDS games (if they progressed - which of course they didn't) and our no.2 v no.3 seed matchup with Texas was therefore scheduled at the worst available time. And you claimed I had the short memory Once the Yankees were eliminated, why were we scheduled for the later ALDS game in games 3 (prime time sunday night slot) and 4 (Monday at 4.07 when Houston hosted KC with a 1.07 slot) if the US networks, as you originally stated, always shaft the Jays for being Canadian? It is all about the biggest draw and Boston/NY outdo any other AL clubs on that score thus their games (or even potential games) will always be scheduled at the better time for more viewing figures. But by all means, if you prefer, you can keep crying that it is all about the Jays being Canadian! Edited October 4, 2016 by Yorkshire Blue Jay

Regardless there is a massive TV draw with the Jays, one of the biggest in baseball but the majority of the audience is watching it on Sportsnet therefore I think TBS and/or fox, ESPN whoever gets no money for commercial time just the broadcast fee. We have the ratings but they can't cash in on it so no point in playing us on prime time.

I disagree, he thinks we get shafted because we are Canadian and that's not the case, if it were, we wouldn't have had the better scheduled times in game 3 & 4 of the ALDS last year. I think everyone understands that the Jays have little or no pull for the US broadcasters, but playoff games are playoff games and unless our game clashes with huge market team's game then it doesn't seem to make a difference. The key is the Yankees and Boston will get preferential playoff scheduling over any other AL team. This scenario has played out the last 2 years in the first phase of playoff scheduling. You're actually right, I'm sorry I read it wrong when I woke up in bed and didn't digest it right. Once the Yankees were done we did get the better time slots.

And with the future trades/drafting we'll do under Shatkins by the time Happ and Estrada walk we have their replacements. Although I agree with you on Biagini, we need to sign/trade for 4-5 relievers and make him a starter, 2017 rn looks like Osuna Grilli Benoit Loup Barnes Feldman Dermondy?
