After all these years I'm still curious what or who the hell is the dogg. The traditional dogg was just a quirky weird guy making irrelevant posts. Then there was this other array of personalities that were a little smarter and much meaner, like realaccountant...

If it is two guys, different personalities, then OK. those are real people, and I guess for better or worse those are their real personalities.

If it is one guy, a master troll, working at this 10 years with an array of made up personalities, that is a different case.

He had multiple "Dogg" amounts where he acted innocent and dumb probably partly on purpose just to aggravate people and get attention. He also had "Zee" accounts where he was belligerent and even argued with his own Dogg accounts

It was bizarre

Here we just let him have one account and he doesn't really cause that much trouble. Mildly annoying. My gut tells me RealAccountant is probably a fair reflection of his overall personality without the weird divide.

I don't think they are the same dude. The IP info and respective emails suggests as much. If they can't both be the dogg than we're probably wrong about one of them. When did RealAccountant is the dogg start? Did he ever own up to that? I think he might actually be (name redacted) and puphood would be the dogg.

The Hurl said it was confirmed that it was him.

Oh o.k. Something about his profile threw me off... In any case the Puphood and RealAccountant accounts don't line up. If RA is the dogg than Puphood probably isn't.

I guarantee they are different people (I have checked both of their social media accounts and their style matches to their board lack of personalities). And I guarantee that Real Accountant is Robert...who was that guy from the other board. Again I really wish people didn't mention them so much. I don't understand the obsession with finding out who they are.

The Dogg was like 13 or 14 when we were all posting on the old board 10 years ago. He probably grew up to some degree.

Who would Jeff Blair's "sources" be within jays org? He just surmised on the radio that Jays are not necessarily keen on locking up JD long term.....that they are tiring of the drama etc. Is this guy legit in what he says and his "sources"?

Shi Davidi

BNS

and Lott has some good stuff sometimes.

Blair is a joke.

He's there every day talking to people. I don't doubt that some sort of exec mentioned Donaldson's next contract in a conversation, but I don't think it has much relevance.

We have Donaldson for two more years, then he'll be 33 when he's finally a FA. I'd be leery to lock him up to a fat extension as well.

If Vladdy sticks at third base then he could be Donaldson's replacement, assuming Vladdy goes pretty fast through the system too.

If it becomes clear that the team does not want to commit to a donaldson extension (kind of like with Price), would the team consider trading him? What would it cost for a team to acquire him?

I know it will make things more expensive, but I'm inclined to wait until after next year. If this little reboot that Shapiro is doing works out well and are still a playoff team next year, it might be worth it to get a few more good seasons from him and pay the price later in the contract. If we let EE go and collapse next year then maybe it's time to entertain a trade.

Yeah I hear ya Grant. I'd wait as well but in the end I don't think I'd do it.

Assuming he plays like an MVP candidate the next two seasons like he has the last two what would an extension even cost? 7 years taking him through age 40? yuck

Almost a sure bet Donaldson goes to FA considering they talked a long term extension last offseason and nothing got done. His value has only increased since then..

Your looking at a Miguel Cabrera/Joey Votto contract for him. Id sign him to 7 years if the contract kicks in next year but not if it starts his FA season.

I feel like we'd be lucky to even get him at 7/210 if your scenario comes true. If we get 3-4 more elite seasons, he's probably worth it, but I don't see Shapiro doing it.

Im pretty sure we will not host a wild card game... I don't know if we are gonna win a single game in our last 4 games of the season..

I'm pretty sure you should take some time away from the board and think about why you are a fan.

Apperently our BP has recorded a loss in 31 games. Obviously pitcher wins aren't a good metric usually, but this is a representation of how bad our pen has been through out the season

You could trade him at the deadline next year as well. I guess by "little reboot", you mean he's just going to replace EE, Bautista and Saunders with options that he sees as better value, try to find some relievers, fire Gibbons (barring a deep playoff run) and go with it??

I don't think Saunders will be too hard to replace.

Holy s***, is he alright?

That's a really bad sister...

So here's the situation:

1 win and 1 Detroit loss--Jays clinch a tie in the 2nd wild card

2 wins - Jays clinch a wild card

3 wins (or 2 wins and 1 O's loss as the Jays hold the tiebreaker)- Jays clinch 1st wild card.

Either way, barring a meltdown, we're playing a wild card game next week. Especially with the Red Sox unlikely to have many regulars in the lineup with likely no chance of catching Texas for best record.

I am just curious, have the Blue Jays made tickets available for a potential tiebreaker game to the season ticket holders already? There seems to be quite a few available on stubhub with instant download.

Shapiro is going to have at least 30 million, perhaps much more, to spend next year and not a lot of holes to fill. We'll also be getting 3 additional draft picks so perhaps he'll be more comfortable dealing a prospect as well.

It will take 3 wins to clinch a wildcard spot. If we win 2, Detroit wins all their games left, and Baltimore wins at least 3 of 4, then all 3 teams are at at least 89 wins. In that case we'd have tiebreakers to deal with.

Part of the problem at this point is that Detroit is playing a s***** Atlanta team for 3 games, and even Seattle plays a s***** Oakland for 4 games. Boston is still going to be trying to win to stay ahead of Cleveland to secure home field in their series.

We're basically guaranteed a tiebreaker game at this point, but I would definitely much rather only have to play 1 game to advance to the ALDS than have to play 2-3.
