Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Is there a link to these Jose Bautista hats anywhere? I thought they were available today but I can't seem to find them.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I was at the game, his FB did seem to be down a few ticks. I remember seeing a lot of 93's.. Yeah, but that's been constant across the 2nd half of the season, he doesn't fair too well in back to back days in terms of velo. It's normal the dude's 21 lol just a bit of fatigue all pitchers are experiencing it. The 2MPH drop that you saw caused a lot of foul balls, and maybe that's why they got the easy singles -- because for once they made contact on his pitches. But it was still tough luck and nothing to be concerned about, 93MPH fastball with his great slider is still a deadly combo
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I was at the game yesterday too and Osuna had s*** luck with 2 strikes, not much you could do with that outcome. I just wish Boston could f***ing drop a few games but looks like they may never lose again.

However i got thinking last night how sweet would it be if we were able to eliminate O's in the Wild Card game and go on to eliminate the Rangers in the ALDS. That would just sweet as hell lol.

O's in the WC, then the Rangers in the ALDS and then the Red Sox in the ALCS. For good measure we can then prevent the Cubs from winning the World Series for the first time in 100 years.

Might be the negative Nancy in me but I don't see this Blue Jays team beating Texas this time around, on paper Texas is the better team all around but I guess anything can happen.

We are a superior team to Texas. I fully expect the Jays to beat the Rangers if the situation comes up

Rangers have a +11 RD. We have a +96 RD. We can beat them.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I hope we can beat them, if we do I will buy drinks for all after the ALDS, except Spanky.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Because you don't like him or because you don't want to be an enabler? He doesn't like me for really no good reason so therefore I don't need to be around the guy.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Yes, the Shwa... Lol fitting.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I want one game vs Orioles. The idea of Verlander really scares me. I'll take on Tillman all day.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I want one game vs Orioles. The idea of Verlander really scares me. I'll take on Tillman all day. Thats what i said. As much as i don't want the Os to have any hope Detroit is a scary team in a 1 and done game.... Their offense can go off and i bet we would get Verlander. Os offence has been scuffling and their pitching does not scare me one bit.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Say the Jays win the WC game. What would happen in a series against the Rangers? Would the Jays hit Odor?
CHRIS Verified Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 If Boston takes the 1st seed, can we play them in the first round (assuming we win the WC)? I seem to recall that there used to be a rule where teams from the same division couldn't play each other in the first round, but I don't know if that's still a thing.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Say the Jays win the WC game. What would happen in a series against the Rangers? Would the Jays hit Odor? I don't think so. They have to put that behind them and focus on winning. If they got way down in the series (blow out in an elimination game) that might change.

I am pretty sure regardless #1 seed gets the wildcard team

For good measure we can then prevent the Cubs from winning the World Series for the first time in 100 years. That would be best, but preventing the giants from winning an even numbered world series would be pretty special as well.

I'm pretty sure that rule changed at some point. Maybe with the introduction of the double wild cards? The Cubs played the Cards last year in the NLDS.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 The wild card game winner plays the #1 seed no matter what division they're in http://baseball.about.com/od/seasonstructur1/tp/playoffsformat.htm
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 So yes, we could, in theory, win the wild card game and then have to play the Red Sox (if they have the best record in the AL)

I seem to recall that there used to be a rule where teams from the same division couldn't play each other in the first round, but I don't know if that's still a thing. It's definitely not a rule any more. It would be strange with 2WC as it means the entire league could wait on the outcome of a wild card game to find out who plays whom. So yes Jays / Red Sox ALDS is still possible. In fact, it's still mathematically possible for the Jays to be #1 seed in the AL and face them there with home field advantage in all 3 rounds. All we need is: Jays go 7-0 Red Sox go 0-6 Texas goes 0-6 Cleveland goes 2-5 or worse. Definitely doable!

I'd rather face the team with the worse bullpen. The Jays offense can't hit any starter, whether Verlander, Fulmer, Tillman, or anyone else, but the starter for the Jays can probably keep it close. I want no part of Baltimore's pen in a one game series.
