LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I know some (like Spanky) hate the negativity but there are so many "f*** you Jays" scenarios that involve teams with young players kicking the f*** out of the old, sad, Blue Jays Night mare scenarios 1. Detroit Boyd, Norris - f***y you Jays for trading us, you got a bat flip, but you won't get another, we're headed to the playoffs, you're sitting around figuring out whether to qualify the .225 hitting bat flipper. 2. Baby Bombers - f*** you jays, baby bombers are young and getting better. Sanchez is the next Piazza. Next year two teams in the East will have 100 wins and it won't be you. Baby bomber sweep, happy f***ing fan appreciation day. 3. Astros (ethical organization) - We have Correa, Springer, and Altuve, average age 24... total control 10+ years, you have Bautista, EE, and Donaldson, average age 33, total control 2 years (Donaldson only). I hate the fact the Jays are so old, there are so many teams with awesome young cores, Red Sox, Astros, maybe Yankees soon... I'm not negative because I'm an awful son of a bitch... I'm negative because there are so many awesome young cores, that I see this as the Jays swan song.... kind of sucks when it looks like there is a chance of a young team beating us out. YOUNG TEAM - f*** YOU *******S, YOU ARE OLD, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR FANS, BUT f*** THEM, THE YOUNG INHERIT THE EARTH.... bye bye bat-flip, EE Tulo, Martin old f***ing loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there some sort of medication you forgot to take today?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 It's also another one of FG's trash SSS articles. Ugh, they are so bad now. Remember when they propped up shitbags like Tyler White, Leonys Martin and Maikel Franco? Oh, and just recently, that awful article about Stroman being one of the best pitchers in baseball after like 3 good starts in a row. lol... yes. It's all clickbait now.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I don't know. If the Jays won the World Series I wouldn't care what Norris became. But we got two months of good baseball, a memorable ALDS, and now what looks like either a WC game or out of the playoffs entirely. Instant gratification, it was fine. Even from a win curve standpoint it was fine. I just hate teams that play for one year. That's all you're ever going to get.
intrigid Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Pretty much nothing left anymore. Just singles and obstructed view seats. And a bunch of seats for ALCS home game #4 which likely doesn't happen. Lol the chances of that game ever happening are hilarious. For that to happen: 1) Jays must win the division 2) Overtake Cleveland for #2 record in the AL 3) Win the ALDS 4) Go 3-3 in the first 6 games of the ALCS It's about as likely as the Jays sweeping the entire playoffs.

Remember when they propped up shitbags like Tyler White, Leonys Martin and Maikel Franco? Oh, and just recently, that awful article about Stroman being one of the best pitchers in baseball after like 3 good starts in a row. Norris has still been good though. 0.9 fWAR in 11 starts. Imagine a rotation of: Syndergaard Sanchez Stroman Norris Desclafani With Boyd/Graveman/Nolin as depth. That's one cheap, young, nasty rotation, and leaves us with a bunch of cash to round out the offense. Hopefully this is what Shatkins are working towards. I'm totally fine with being a mediocre team for another couple years if it means having a competitive team for a decade.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/so-daniel-norris-is-good-now/ I didn't realize that Dan Norris had been pitching so well. He was a write off by many after 2015.

Their 'Ezequiel Carrera is good now' article is the worst of all. 2. You bought in fully to two of those three players.

2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Do you think the Jays have a chance to take the first wildcard spot? I know they are just 1 game ahead of the O's for the first spot.. but I want to see the wildcard game at the Rogers Centre. (I got a pair of ticket for that game because they are likely to be a wildcard team if they make it to the postseason)

Pretty sure there is a much better chance of us sweeping the entire playoffs than a ALCS #4 home game.

They hold that spot right now and with 10 games to go they've got a great shot. If they can go 6-4 it's probably theirs. 5-5 and they've got a good chance.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Tanaka to miss his next start (against the Jays).

I know it's a pretty s***** stadium in comparison to Tampa's home in Port Charlotte (which was renovated back in 2009 I think).
