Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Jon Morosi #BlueJays will be fascinating to follow over next week; they are in both the rotation and bullpen markets, talking with multiple clubs. He loves throwing us a bone.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Everyone is talking with everyone else at this time of year. #breakingnews
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Morosi is a huge troll. He's such a tool. He comes on Tim&Sid and the Fan often enough to get a sizeable Canadian following, and then just tweets things to get that specific audience riled up. Like tweeting the Jays never offered Price a contract (obviously) 2 weeks after he signed, and last week on the radio saying they could trade Donaldson at the deadline next year. There's already been 2 failed JP's in Toronto, he's trying his best to be the third

He is a pretty good posterboy for clickbait journalism in baseball circles. I've stopped clicking on anything he's written. #TeamKen

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Perhaps some wishful thinking, but maybe Martin is going to get a Dickey start tomorrow? If a playoff run is in the cards I don't want Thole anywhere near the starting lineup. I've been not-so-secretly hoping that Martin would eventually start catching Dickey to shake the rust off.

I cant imagine this would be the case. Dickey is likely your 4th, maybe your 5th postseason starter. Why risk injury during a stretch run for a potential playoff start or two?

Why risk injury during a stretch run for a potential playoff start or two? Versatility. The team's starting catcher should be able to work as seamlessly as possible with one of the team's starter pitchers considering the volatility of the pitch in question. More options are better than fewer options. But like I said, it's probably just wishful thinking on my part.

We carry the worst backup catcher in the league just to catch the knuckle ball so Martin doesnt have to. We need wins right now and Martin has said he doesnt like catching the knuckler, he was demonstrably bad at it last time, and he believes it affects his hitting which is reason enough to just leave this alone. Worry about the post season if and when we get there

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Is this the real f***ing life, We cant have Thole running around there for three games We need a real backup!
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Hanging out for too long in a steaming room with other naked men, Martin admits that his injury is a direct result of trying to apply "going the other way" to other facets of his life.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I seem to vaguely recall a Jays player who had hurt his hands moving and came to spring training hurt Might not have been a Jay.
walkoff93 Verified Member Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Could have been worse. He could have sneezed in the shower, pulled his lat and fell down and hurt his knee.........sheeeesh.
