The thing with Tulo is i don't think he would change just to change or at his age because someone told him to. I wonder what prompted him to do this?

He had his worst offensive season since 2008, so all things considered maybe the worst season of his career in terms of production. In Blue, he never once looked like the real Troy Tulowitzki.

Exactly

He was.probably ashamed of his offensive performance and is motivated to improve again. Simple as that.

The funny thing is all the casuals who think he can't hit. Like they'd never heard of him before we got him or something.

Maybe the leg kick is the secret to longer-lasting slugging?

Anyway, if it helps his swing, then I'm all for it.

Leg kicks are the new weighted balls.

you get weighted balls from doing leg kicks

is that all we do now? just give players leg kicks? well i guess it simplifies things. any way we can incorporate the leg kick into a pitchers delivery? maybe get delabar to test it out.

Nice Tulo article today http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/tulowitzki-finally-feeling-tranquil-as-member-of-blue-jays/

lol after reading a good positive article about one of the best Blue Jays I thought hmm the comments can't be bad on everything.

Man was I ever wrong, one of the first comments I saw:

Syngut Rank 85

Top 5 Jays:

1. Tulo

2. Donaldson

3. Stroman

4. Edwin

5. Goins

And then there's this:

Bucky Bama Rank 301

Can't help but to get a chuckle out of the photo up top with the sponsored name of the Blue Jays training field. It's called the "Florida Auto Exchange Stadium"? Really? So here is a MLB team, owned by a huge communications company, that can't throw a few bucks into naming rights like "Rogers Roam Like Home Field", into their Spring Training facility?

I don't know about any of you, but I'm just glad to see him keeping movement in his hands instead of creating a pause like he did last year.

Just noticed something weird with his new swing. He lifts his back foot/pivot foot and brings it forward a good 8 inches or so in the middle of the swing. Isn't the back foot usually planted and used to push off of? Kinda weird

It's just a weight transfer, he's trying to lead with his hands more by doing that

Nope. Back foot should basically leave the ground. No weight on it at the point of contact in a good/powerful swing.

It's not really that weird. Other hitters do it too, here's Bryce Harper's swing:

Here's everyone's favourite hitting coach analyzing his swing:

Squish the bug is probably the world's worst hitting cue.

Yeah its funny, so many things that coaches try to teach you when you're young are so completely wrong.

I went and watched some other players' swings, and yeah alot lift the back foot. Maybe not so much as Tulo in that GIF but yeah its visible.
