Maahfaace Verified Member Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 It is a bit of a save that he didn't bash walking and just said it not an easy skill to develop. He was a valuable player for our team last year. He just reminds me too much attitude wise of the dumb cocky players we've had recently. It isnt from this comment that I am getting how hard headed he is. Nevertheless, he shouldn't be the leadoff hitter. Is your mom his personal cum dumpster?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Just got back for a week at ST. I really like Pillar's swing but like many of you I don't expect his walk rate to get a whole lot better, although I think there is more power potential. I have to say he puts on a show in BP, hitting balls just as far if not further than the big bats on the team. I'll admit I never saw him last year in BP so I don't know if he always hit the ball this hard but it sure is nice to watch. And in the end is still is just BP. Josh frickin Thole won a HR derby the guys did for fun with one of the ugliest batting stances I've ever seen.

The guy hits 8/10 balls out of the park in BP, but he doesn't use that pop in real games" BP pop suxx brother. Greg Polanco, Junior Lake, Cervelli, Eduardo Nuñez, are BP monster.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Doesn't seem like today's game is on TV, any idea if it's going to be freely available somewhere?

Pillars swing is all arms, unless he fundamentally changes how he swings at a ball he will never be more than a 8-12 homer guy. It's all in the hips. ...it's all in the hips......best caddy ever
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I guess you haven't been following this offseason where he revamped his swing? Maybe it won't help him, but to say his swing is all arms is just dumb.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Wasn't the word a few days ago that he was looking for 4 or 5 years? If that's the case than this team is really penny pinching.

I don't know 5 years is a bit.... It seems like every year he has a nagging injury he is playing through.... How well is this guy going to age?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I wouldnt do 5 years for EE I definitely agree unless it's a front loaded contract or the 5th year is an option year. $25M, $20M, $20M, $15M, $10M. AAV - $18M In principle, I don't like locking up the DH spot either...
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Price looks pretty goofy in the Boston red. Don't know what it is, I don't remember thinking that about the Rays, Tigers, or Jays.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) You have a better swing than Barry Davis: Wow - he's either oblivious to how pathetic he is, or he enjoys being made fun of. My 3 year old son has a better swing than Barry. Jackie looks pretty good in the video though. Edited March 15, 2016 by Brownie19

skicross1 Verified Member Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Is there anywhere to follow minor league camp a little closer ? It would be cool to hear how the young guys are developing and who will end up where ! I for one would love to see Vladi JR in Vancouver this season! Be fun to go see.
