G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Better off ignoring all of it then taking anything from it. Several of the SPs having good looking stuff already and Saunders looking healthy and performing is probably all I've put any stock into, cause yeah... you can never read too much into it at this point.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Quick poll: if offered a chance to go to dinner with Barker and Wilner would you go or not? I wouldn't. I just couldn't. Sure I would take the free meal.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Sure I would take the free meal. I would too, just at a GOOD place, no family-style places where I'd have to share food with Wilner.
JosJos Verified Member Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Jays now 5-1 (and without 2 huge bats) The starting pitching actually could turn out to be decent Saunders if he stays healthy really lengthens the lineup Bullpen is still the big question mark In any case I like what's going on so far I think we have one of the best bullpens in the AL behind only the Yankees.
blueballs Verified Member Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Does anyone else think it will be Gavin Floyd as the 5th starter or Hutch? Floyd will start again tomorrow. So far Chavez and Sanchez hasn't been given any starts this spring. The pen looks strong with Chavez, Sanchez, Storen, Osuna, Cecil and throw in Loup and maybe Hutch or Floyd depending who gets the 5th starter job. I think the bigger question is the starting picthing, whether they can repeat the same success as last year and stay healthy.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Sure I would take the free meal. He said nothing about it being free. I'd say you just have a man crush on Barker.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 All the starters are going to get the same amount of innings this spring. Just because they don't start the game does not mean they are not starting. They will piggy back two starters per game early on giving them 2/3 innings each or an allotted pitch count. I would say right now its Chavez to loose but its a long month
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Ben N-S just posted an article on Sportsnet about Devon Travis and apparently his recovery is going well. His quotes sound like Stro last year very eager to get back. Closer to resuming baseball activities.

If either Floyd or Hutch show they've 'got it', Sanchez to Buffalo and Chavez to the pen.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I suppose - the pen is deeper this year
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I suppose - the pen is deeper this year Biagini and Girodo are the "Osuna-Castro" of this year. Book it!!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Osuna Storen Cecil Loup Chavez/Floyd Delabar Schultz other options Biagini Venditte Soriano Tepera Girodo LeBlanc Aardsma Leon Injuuuuured
puphood Verified Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I know its early but I am happy for Saunders. He looks like his knee is good in the little I saw him move in the field, his gait didn't look forced.....he could be a very pleasant surprise this spring.....
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I think Biagini will make the team. Leon is out of options. Considering they traded for him knowing he was out of options, maybe they give him a real shot to make it. Sanchez isn't needed in the pen.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 If Floydd is healthy he should be starting. this is not even a question. Sanchez should be left a reliever. He won't develop the secondary stuff necessary his minor records is horrible. If he goes back to AAA to start then we could see a huge loss of confidence one where he may not be able to become a good reliever from. If Sanchez goes to AAA we may never see him in an MLB game again

I think Biagini and Leon have a good chance of making the team too. With Loup being injured I could see at least one of them making the team. By what Gibby has said about Biagini's "big arm" I could see him having the inside track.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Can someone give me the deets on Biagini and why people here seem to love him? He seems like a guy that doesn't strike out a lot but keeps the ball in the park. Nothing to get too excited about I suppose?

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Sounds like Estrada is seriously injured "not a good day" he said to Wilner today
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Sounds like Estrada is seriously injured "not a good day" he said to Wilner today Throws up in mouth......who hates the Chavez deal now? Need SP'ing depth...
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 This does not even bother me too much because we have something that we have not seen in a long f***ing time..... SP depth....Chavez Floyd are ready
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I haven't been following Estrada. What happened? Explain?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 It's just a sore back / back strain. Not a big deal.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 It's just a sore back / back strain. Not a big deal. We hear that time and time again and it could end up being worse. Just like how Loup on the first of this month said he was sore and would resume throwing in the next couple of days. gets an MRI and now he won't be ready for the season.

Okay and plenty of times the minor wear and tear and day-to-day diagnoses are just minor and day-to-day, just as described. Can you tell us what was actually said instead of prefacing breaking news with your sensational projections?
