eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Condensing everything into that one thread is so dumb. It's perfect for minor moves but I used to love coming on the board to see threads discussing the big moves. So many things get lost in the shuffle.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Woops. Lock this up
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Lol this is threadworthy, shouldn't be merged into all baseball.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Sigh. Really wonder what the Yanks could get for Miller.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 The bullpen was never a problem for the Yanks.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Yankee pen is going to be stupidly good. AL East is going to be an absolute dogfight. Seems a bit of a waste to burn so many pieces for an upcoming FA, but for 2016 it'll mean Yankee opponents will have one-third of a game in which scoring is impossible.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 They have the top 3 K/9 pitchers from last season now in Chapman, Miller and Betances.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Wow. Forget Charlton, Myers, and Dibble. These.... Are the Nasty Boys.

They'll get 3-4 wins from Chapman, and then get a better prospect than any they gave up with a comp pick (if they aren't eliminated).
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 So I guess the Yankees should hope that he gets suspended? He'll miss part of 2015 but he also gets his FA delayed by 1 year, so they'll get another year from him?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Rumour has it the MLB won't even suspend him now that he's playing with the YANKEES.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 It's already being discussed here: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4376-Around-Baseball-2015?p=833248&viewfull=1#post833248 Give me a f***ing break..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Is there even any indication that he will be suspended? The alleged domestic abuse story didn't really get that much attention outside that one night.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 This is a really good move. They'll get 3-4 wins from Chapman, and then get a better prospect than any they gave up with a comp pick (if they aren't eliminated). Geez man, really good move, forgot about the comp pick.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Is there even any indication that he will be suspended? The alleged domestic abuse story didn't really get that much attention outside that one night. The idea that sports leagues should take criminal justice into their own hands is absurd, but it is what it is, so they'll certainly hand down some sort of discipline.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Where are these details about an extra year if he gets suspended? Shouldn't that be the Yankees problem for acquiring him, why are they getting rewarded?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 f***ing hell. They're going to end up with 2 years of Chapman plus a comp pick prospect for some jack s*** minor leaguers. Would have made that deal from our perspective in a nano-second. No s***, this could be a coup.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Condensing everything into that one thread is so dumb. It's perfect for minor moves but I used to love coming on the board to see threads discussing the big moves. So many things get lost in the shuffle. Am I the only one who thinks every move should have its own thread? I hate not coming to the forum for one day and searching through that dumb thread for a move that already happened.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Where are these details about an extra year if he gets suspended? Shouldn't that be the Yankees problem for acquiring him, why are they getting rewarded? Any reward would be for being aware of the situation and taking a smart risk.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Any reward would be for being aware of the situation and taking a smart risk. So it's true?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 So it's true? I think it's true. Suspended players don't get service time, but MLB rules are always manipulated.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Wow. Forget Charlton, Myers, and Dibble. These.... Are the Nasty Boys. As a baseball fan...those 3 are going to be fun to watch. As a Jays fan, this blows goats
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Wow it's true. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/why-yankees-should-hope-aroldis-chapman-gets-a-lengthy-suspension-220152608.html
Nafro Verified Member Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 So it's true? If he spends more than 45 MLB days (not games) of the total 180 MLB days suspended, he will not qualify for free agency until after 2017 season.

Just have one big baseball chatbox
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Is this real life? Betances, Miller AND Chapman. We better hope our offense is good...in the earlier innings. Our pen sans Hendriks and Lowe makes me queasy.
