You do understand that having a top farm system is kind of vital to the likelihood of future and sustained success, right?

He either doesn't understand, or doesn't care.

You can literally sign every big name free agent in every offseason and still not win the WS. The goal should be to contruct a team that has the ability to make the playoffs every year, because we all know the playoffs are a crapshoot once you get in. Going "all in" for a 1-2 year shot at a WS title is not smart. It never works out. But these people that complain haven't been following baseball long enough to know that.

But Shapiro has failed massively in Cleveland. Bottom line is, Indians didn't win, and were 29th in attendance. Fail at both.

Why are we settling for someone else's castoffs?

Shapiro's recent track record f***ing blows. AA on the other hand, just won executive of the year as voted by his peers, who no offense, know a lot more about baseball than either of us. So I'm not going out on a limb when I say that AA was a helluva lot better than what we are stuck with now.

I didn't know Bob McCowan was on this board....a celeb! nice.

Speaking of this, my wife and I are about to have our 3rd child....still working on names. He'll be our 3rd boy (other two are Maddux and Perry). On the list is:

- Emery

- Miles

- Archer

- Beckett

Last name starts with a B so we're leary on Beckett (double B)

I tossed around the idea of Gehrig as Id love a baseball reference.

Thoughts? Which do you like and/or any other suggestions? Thanks guys

Archer, that's great. Named my last kid born in 2012 Colby lol.

Well, if your last name is Brown, Beckett Brown is a f***ing awesome name.

If my last name was Brown, I'd clearly just go with Doc Brown for many obvious reasons...

Couple more votes for Archer....it was slipping off the list to be honest.

Good thing Bob McCown ripped him for no reason last night so that all the casuals listening have an open mind.

The first question someone in the Toronto media will ask Atkins is about his thoughts on how great Alex was.

"Alex left this team in a good spot do you feel nervous"

"Lots of fans loved Alex what is your response to them to ease their worries"

"Alex had a 5 year contact limit, will you also have the same philosophy"

"Alex Alex Alex Alex Alex Alex Alex? "
