Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Can we atleast bring back Danny Valencia to f*** him up?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 This doesn't hurt; wouldn't pay this much for Price period. But watching Boyd and Norris pitch for Detroit? That's going to hurt. I don't know, that playoff run was pretty epic.
Praxis Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Just Norris. Boyd looks ticketed for Toledo.. and unless he curbs his HR issues, he won't be much of a regular. He's only 24; I wouldn't write him off just yet. And Norris is just 22.
DerangedIdoit Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Why the f*** did they let Lester walk? Could have saved $80M for a small downgrade. Dumbroski was at the helm then.
Candide Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 It won't happen and doesn't have to are you seriously telling me that the pathetic Jays can contend in the AL East against the RedSox with a laughable lineup of: LF: Revere 3B: Donaldson RF: Bautista 1B: Encarnacion SS: Tulowitzki C: Martin DH: Colabello CF: Pillar 2B: Travis You NEEDED David Price to even have a chance next season, especially if all you have is Stroman and a bunch of #4-5 starters man. I'm done with this joke of an ownership and so done with this team. Need some time away from this board!! Catch you guys in September.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Dumbroski was at the helm then. The entire sequence was bizarre. Let the hometown ace walk for 6/135 and end up with Rick Porcello at 4/85. Cherington was f***ing awful.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Red Sox are a scary team Probably the AL East 2016 champs now
Praxis Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I don't know, that playoff run was pretty epic. Agreed. We'd been waiting 22 years to see the playoffs and it was brilliant. Unfortunately losing in 6 in the ALCS may ultimately not be enough to dim the pain.

The rotation looks like s*** but the offseason ain't over yet, I hope.
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Probably the AL East 2016 champs now I wouldn't go that far. They just got better, but the AL East will still be a dog fight. I expect the Red Sox to get a ton of Vegas bumps and subsequent action.

Praxis Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Dim the pain of what? Watching Boyd and Norris potentially pitching effectively for years for a team playing 4 hours away. Y'know, kinda like Syndergaard.

Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 How long do we give before the gun aim is moved from Rogers' temple to Price's head? I'll go 24 hours... at some point tomorrow there will be a rise of 'I thought he liked it here?', right after a Lecava interview where he states that they were interested but not at that cost.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Watching Boyd and Norris potentially pitching effectively for years for a team playing 4 hours away. Y'know, kinda like Syndergaard. You'll be ok.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Jays are a couple injuries away from being bottom dwellers in the division, so don't rag on Boston for the same lack of depth if you're going to say the Jays and Yanks are easily better. Three horse race in this division with lots of offseason left to go, IMO. Rays are always dangerous cause they are ninja like. Everyone in the division is basically in the same boat, except maybe for the Yankees, who will have Bird and Judge in AAA.. but that team still is lacking depth in SP in the minors. As for the Rays, they still have Snell waiting in the wings in Durham.. but they need offense if they're gonna contend.

I'm done with this joke of an ownership and so done with this team. Need some time away from this board!! Catch you guys in September. THAT lineup scored 891 runs last year. Even if it regresses slightly, it's still one of the most dangerous lineups in baseball.

DerangedIdoit Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Well, Boston better enjoy the huge luxury tax bills they will face.. well over $210M now in payroll after this and the Young deals. And smart move by the Jays not to give Price this kind of money.. no pitcher is worth this. Is it really that much? Is there a break down that says as much?
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Buddy of mine in my ear telling me that I need to drop the Jays, they're nobody and will go nowhere next year because they didn't keep Price. They care nothing about the fans and never will, cheap garbage disgraceful ownership, etc. God give me the patience.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Still can't believe this s***. I mean, I knew he wasn't going to sign with us, but why didn't the Dodgers or Giants sign him instead?? Argghhhh
