Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Not unlimited. They only went this high out of desperation to win now. Basically, they better pray for no injuries.. or they're going to be in trouble again. They still need more bullpen help.. Unlimited was hyperbole, but you get my point. $30 in the context of $200 mil is very different than $30 mil in the context of $140 mil.

Forming a bond with every single guy on the team. I could go on forever. Thank you @davidprice14. Thankful and lucky to have been your teammate and to call you a friend. You deserve every single penny. More than deserving. Going to miss you at the top step after every inning. With that being said, I can't wait to compete against you. Excited already thinking about it. Thank you for everything CHAMP. Look forward to beating you every chance I get for many years to come!" - Stro

Basically, they better pray for no injuries.. or they're going to be in trouble again. They still need more bullpen help.. They're only hope is another 2013 where everything goes right again. The Jays and Yanks are both still better than them. Who knows with the Rays, I swear they pull some Jim Hickey magic every year with the pitching and find solid hitters out of the bargain bin, so who knows. The O's are definitely the worst team now in the division. I still have the Red Sox 3rd or 4th. Maybe 2nd if something stupid happens and a WC spot, but I think they fall short.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Price is not opting out at age 33, unless player salaries get even crazier by then. Glad the Jays aren't paying that, but sucks to see him on the Red Sox. Didn't we say the same thing about Greinke?
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Bautista had better not start bitching about this
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Didn't we say the same thing about Greinke? Well, he's on a team run by Dombrowski, so chances are he could opt out and get more money from Dombrowski bidding against himself. That dude is AA on speed when it comes to player contracts.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Dude isnt even worth 150 over 7 huge overpay which is good f*** the sox and f*** david price, overrated trash in the postseason f*** him lol
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Boston is going to be really good. Price Buchholz Ed Rod Porcello Miley Kimbrel Uehara Swihart / Vazquez Shaw / Hanley Douche-Elf Xander Sandoval JBJ Betts Castillo Or whatever they're doing with their OF. The lineup is pretty mediocre tbh but the rotation is definitely nice. I don't think the Sox are better than the Jays yet and everything they've done so far this off season has really hurt their long term outlook.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 He tweets too damn much and it's never interesting. We need to hear an Archer tweet.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Well, Boston better enjoy the huge luxury tax bills they will face.. well over $210M now in payroll after this and the Young deals. And smart move by the Jays not to give Price this kind of money.. no pitcher is worth this. Kershaw and maybe a few others are
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Shouldn't be a surprise. Price is only loyal to money, just hate to see him in the AL east I'd be pretty loyal to $217 million as well.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Long term deal aside, are the Sox going to be good next season? No guarantees at this point. They still have those awful Porcello, Sandoval and HanRam deals, losing Ortiz at the end of next season, still need Bradley and Castillo to start producing, and need more improvement from Bogaerts, Swihart and Betts. And of course, Pedroia needs to stay healthy and keep producing.. he is getting close to the back nine of his career, and Moncada is a ways away. And their farm in the high minors is barren, as most of the top prospects are in A ball..

Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Jays are a couple injuries away from being bottom dwellers in the division, so don't rag on Boston for the same lack of depth if you're going to say the Jays and Yanks are easily better. Three horse race in this division with lots of offseason left to go, IMO. Rays are always dangerous cause they are ninja like.
