Watching Shapiro handle these questions is impressive. He's saying all the right things, while also providing some substance and not just blowing air. I loved a lot of the particulars that he said re: his values, what he values in a GM, etc.

 

He has some very impressive things to say about culture and process.

The woman reporter did and he didn't give firm answer. Though he did state at the beginning that they would be deciding on options/offers in the next few days so I imagine they will.

So the answer to GM autonomy is no. As long as the GM's decision makes sense (ie. Shapiro agrees), he'll sign off.

I thought it was interesting that he said that AA didn't even really want to talk contract. Sounds like AA had one foot out the door for awhile.
