Everyone on the social media is wondering if they will fire Gibby as well.

I hope current management will have negative views about Gibby...

He made way too many mistakes, but his mistakes were covered by player's good performance..

Gibbons should be back on merit, but it's really a coin flip right now. Everyone is on the chopping block when the likely Executive of the Year is demoted/fired.

I dislike Gibby, made me swear too many times at his decisions or lack thereof which did cost us some wins imo. Hope he's gone.

I don't think your swearing cost the Jays wins...but if it did I think you are to blame for the ALCS

Francona has an opt-out clause in his contract that is apparently triggered when Shapiro leaves Cleveland. Having something like that negotiated in a contract makes it almost 100% guaranteed that Tito's coming over here, especially since Gibbons has always been AA/JPR's guy. I heard that Gibbons' 2017 year becomes guaranteed if he's still on contract past January 1st so that's probably going to factor in that too.

Who knows. I was pretty damn confident that AA was going to be back for sure...and look how that worked out.

There's no telling what Shapiro/ownership is thinking.

Maybe they bring Gibby back to buy them time. If the team struggles next year, boom...blame Gibbons and fire him then. That buys Shapiro a year as it wasn't his guy.

Apparently, the rumor is that Shapiro is expected to fire Gibbons next and bring in his own guys.

Guess we'll see how smart he is. Gibbons gone = I gain some respect for Shapiro. This talent almost took us to the World Series, not Gibbons.

Players seem to love him though because he's so laid back, which I think was the problem last time he was here. Team fall apart below him and he couldn't control it.

This team doesn't really have bad chemistry guys so it's not the same story.

Wouldn't surprise me if they kept him on a short leash though. Hard to fire a guy that almost takes you to the WS. I could see a small losing streak and get rid of him, though he'd probably prefer his guy from day one.

Can you just stop with this demoted and fired ********? There is nothing to suggest either of those things happened and you braying it out over and over doesn't make it true.

Is it possible that Shapiro is planning on bringing in Francona and this is what he and AA can't agree on? I can see AA being a pussy regarding letting Gibby go, since he was his choice over that long hard thought out process, especially after making it to the ALCS. Now that I think about it, there's a really good chance of this being the case.

lol stop with these almost 100% guaranteed comments. Tito isn't going anywhere.. Manny Acta would probably be the most likely external candidate if Gibbons is let go.
