I'm pretty skeptical about LaCava turning down more power and probably money.

His comments are pretty... unenthused, lol

Nice. Hopefully Tony does it.

I wouldn't hate that. He knows the Jays from top to bottom and probably has good ideas on what needs to be changed.

Either one will be a yes man, seems like. I might prefer Atkins, since Shapiro clearly thinks he's smart and we're keeping Tony on the staff too. 3 heads are better than 2!

Lets hope the LaCava curse continues. Always a bridesmaids never a bride. I will take the young sabermetrics executive Shapiro has been molding.

lol. Jonn's an exec.

Spanky I'm a lot more qualified than you. Atleast I leave my house.

The good thing about whomever the next GM is will be that he will have a president that seems to have a long term outlook rather than looking to change the team's direction to fit with his own retirement. Not to mention that he was a GM and will probably have the patience to see through a rebuilding process if they start one.

We'll see what happens.

You post on BJMB. This can't be true.

This guy comes in, nudges out AA, talks so much about having more money to spend than in Cleveland and then has an off-season like this??

Trades one of our best relievers for Jesse Chavez? Signs ace J.A. Happ? Pays Justin friggin Smoak 3.9 Million????

This guy is bringing his penny pinching ways from Cleveland to Toronto. I can't think of a more underwhelming off-season. Shapiro has literally added 20 million in payroll without adding anyone of impact. Nice.

He's not even GM...

You should catch up on how baseball front offices work these days. Think of the GM like you would an assistant. President Pyro calls the shots.

So we have a year where we add Donaldson, Martin, Price, Tulo, Revere, Lowe, Hawkins, etc and people expect that to become the norm. got it.

It's early.

He's filling the roster holes nicely.

Expecting a big move or two to better position the Jays for sustained success.

Funny how you hated on AA every chance you get, yet you are so supportive of Shapiro. I hope you are right but I won't hold my breath.

I'm not a fan of Smoak at 3.9 million.

I guess we were just spoiled by AA. Shapiro should have stuck to stadium renovations and ticket pricing.

I was ambivalent about AA. Wouldn't say hate, not even close. More than once I've stated a belief the Marlins and Dickey trades were the Beest's work.

Actually Smokey got on my case for supporting AA last June when the Jays were floundering at/below .500 and I wrote AA put together a strong team that by RD should be leading the AL.

But whatever. Make it personal if you want.
