I didn't think what just happened was possible. They basically fired the most admired man in Toronto right now, the reason they had all of this success. Rogers has consistently f***ed up year after year, so you can't put anything past them, including giving a mandate to Shapiro to rebuild.

 

AA is nowhere on the level of Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson, or Marcus Stroman.

AA said it's not accurate to describe this as a power struggle; again refused to go into specifics. Says it "wasn't right fit."

AA: I approached ballclub & said "I don't think this is the right fit for me." With no caveats. They tried to figure a way for me to stay.

AA has trouble dodging them but still manages to - refuses to "get into specifics" and says simply that based on "general discussions" the fit wasn't right. Says that he never asked for anything and was never told that anything would be different.
