King Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 You'd think the they mean trying to move Castro first. Baez is the name being shopped around right now.. The Cubs apparently told Castro that he won't be traded this offseason.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Man this thread is reminding me how glad I am that AA is gone. Good riddance. What? That's all you think about.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Castro is pretty bad. I'd enjoy seeing the Yankees acquire him.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Sounds like Rogers wanted a lower budget but Shapiro had to convince them to even get it to the level it is at now. Looking at the salaries in 2017 and beyond 2016 looks to their best chance to Win the next few years.

Yeah this seems like reality unless Rogers increases the payroll to like 180 Million or something. I mean if you sign Bautista you would have roughly 113 Million tied up in 8 players. The Major holes to fill would be at least 1 SP, LF, DH, 1B and the entire bullpen. Tulo 20 Million Martin 20 Million Bautista 20 Million Donaldson 16 Million Estrada 14.5 Million Happ 13 Million Hutchison 6 Million Stroman 4 Million

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Blanton would be excellent! Does anyone have Blanton's isolated peripherals in the BP for this year?

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Off-topic but do you guys think Strasburg in the 2016 off-season would be the type of pitcher (given his age and talent) that Shapiro/Atkins would deem worry of shelling 200M+ for?

I think he'd be about the last type of player to get a long term deal here. He's an asset with huge risk even by pitcher standards. If they didn't want Price, there's no way they want Stras IMO.
