Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Totally agree. All this barf in my mouth KC fapping by Reynolds et al is brutal. They are hot as he'll but they didn't invent doubles and gap hitting FFS. If our big guys truly connect it's out in any park. They just need to make some adjustments if they are getting pitched away like they did in game 5. It's so crazy. Donaldson had 40 doubles and (as far as I could see) had a great season hitting opp-field. Let's say you turn 20 of Donaldson's homers to doubles. Then he would hit 60 doubles and 20 homers, and there would be a narrative that Donaldson was the grittiest, dirt-bag, line drive hitting doubles machine ever seen. Reynolds would say "Donaldson almost broke the doubles record, I haven't seen a guy like him... well since Don Mattingly or Paul Molitor... he's totally old school.. 60 double!!!! That's the way the game was meant to be played." Turning 20 of Donaldson's homers into doubles would make him a worse player, but I bet the media would think he's better. And if you took away 50 of his walks, and replaced them with 15 singles (15/50 so it didn't effect his average much), then Harold would think Donaldson is almost good enough to play for the Royals.!!!!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Do yourself a big favour and stop caring what Harold Reynolds thinks. The guy is a certifiable idiot.

S33n Verified Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Biggest factor is likely weather conditions, it was really cold last time they played in KC, the ball does not carry as well compared to Roger's centre perfect hitting conditions. They will need to look to use that big outfield for hits like KC does. I don't mean they need to get all singles happy but this is a team that hit a lot of doubles this year, lets see them line some into the gaps like KC was doing at home. they always seemed to have a guy on 2nd. As of right now the weather conditions seems to be nice for tonights game. 19 degrees with no rain, lets go Jays!!!
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Good freaking lord, is anyone here being productive at work at all right now on a Friday with game 6 ALCS on your mind? Pretty sure I've pissed off a few clients the past few weeks.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Go Jays! Just get it to a game 7 and anything can happen
Zizzzzy Verified Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 When the Jays are not playing like absolute s*** to get me in a bad mood, the Murica Bias is actually quite funny to listen too. Reynolds has a huge man crush on Pillar though...

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Yeah especially with all these afternoon games. Yea and I left work for two of those (should have been 3). I've gone to both disappointing Game 2 home games so far. I have yet another Game 2 ticket for WS if or when we get there. Trying to see a postseason win live is costing me a lot of money.
bowld Verified Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Looking for Price to finally come through in the postseason. I think his next contract value depends a lot on how he does today. Needs the monkey off his back and believe he will
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 The radio broadcast is usually a little behind, but given the simulcast issues with FOX, I'm wondering if I can get away with the radio broadcast while watching the game. It really is painful to listen to the FOX guys. Let's go Price! Need to bats to show up today. So far they haven't in KC.

Here are a few things I learned: Stroman is going to fall off a cliff within the next few seasons Price is a very good pitcher but not a true ace Ned Yost is a good manager The Royals have a better team for the playoffs than the Jays

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Revere needs one of those 3 hit games he's capable of. Definitely, because he's sure as hell not going to walk to get on base.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Yes it would be nice if our troll slap hitter could cause a s*** storm. Its been really back to back series where it seemed DeSheilds and Escobar were on base and scored before anyone can blink. It's frustrating as f***. Especially Escobar because of how much of an easy out he was all season. f***ing leadoff hitters have been supercharged outside of Revere who has been abysmal.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Revere needs one of those 3 hit games he's capable of. It's why I really hope AA keeps Pompey over him. When Pompey doesn't get a hit, he still gets on base due to the walk. He had a +.400 OBP, with a 12% BB rate and a 13% K rate, from the time he was sent down to AA to the end of his AAA season.
