This IS a little weird, but Choo was 2/2 and looked like he had a lock on Dickey that last at bat. I sort of understand - sort of - not letting Choo get another look at Dickey with Beltre (also 2/2 in spite of looking crippled out there) right behind him. Sort of.

 

Still don't like this, I'd have liked to spot Dickey 2 more runs or an obvious meltdown before pulling him, but then again nobody pays me to make these decisions.

Nah.. Stroman looked considerably better than Price in his start. I like the decision to start Stroman if there's a game five.

 

Then start Stroman game 5 and push Price to game 1 of the ALCS. Why burn him when he's on such a roll. This will crush Dickey

Look at the look on Dickey's face. Remember the look on Stroman's face when he got pulled. Both completely pissed and for good reason. Gibbons is cracking. Yes it is sort of meaningless but taking Dickey out before he even qualifies for the win.
