  1. Yeah, you can think Stroman takes it too far sometimes and it has nothing to do with race. It’s not about tearing down a confident young black man, it’s about the fact that he’s a little much with it sometimes. There are probably a few bigots in this thread to be sure, but the hyper-sensitivity is a little much too. That said, on the whole, he gave Toronto a lot of good memories to be thankful for. I don’t mind him causing a ruckus on his way out, I wouldn’t like being treated the way he has been either. (Not saying management was wrong to ship him, but regardless of right or wrong I’d be pissed if I was loyal to the team and a great pitcher and I didn’t get approached about an extension and just got left in the dark knowing I was trade bait.) I hope he does well with the Mets, hopefully one of those prospects turns into something at least. Sucks to see him go with a full year left.
  2. Yep, this. Frustrating that Martin didn't have a better series, but not a reason on earth to be dissatisfied with what he continues to bring to the table. If he hits .225 without power next year we can talk then, but for now I'm not too worried. Jose, on the other hand, has always bothered me with his whining over pitches. His "shaking in the boots" comment was beyond ridiculous, but at the end of the day he's done a good service to the franchise, so I tip my hat, say thanks for the memories, good luck wherever you go next. I hope we QO him and don't get taken up on it, but I'd rather risk losing the picks than ending up with him next year.
  3. Didn't realize there was a day off tomorrow, makes sense.
  4. First post in a long time, just trying to understand (without being critical) why Osuna here?
  5. If the Jays knew there was a chance Loup wouldn't be available again this series (again, presumably has to be a family illness or something of the sort), why have him on the roster? That's a huge risk and it may have cost us a shot at coming back this game.
  6. There's not much needed to put the team over the top versus what we see here other than perhaps boosting our bullpen. This is a World Series caliber team whether we actually make it there or not. These are the breaks we face. Price hasn't been his regular season self. Dickey gave us 1/2 good starts (and even today's game wasn't out of hand until the bizarre Hawkins/Tepara thing happened). We lost Cecil to a fluke tear. Loup has been gone with personal issues. Bats have gone a bit colder than expected, but still not that bad. Estrada and Stroman have given us enough. Taken as a whole, our big 3 have produced.
  7. Pennington outpitching Hawkins tonight wasn't something I expected.
  8. Agreed that's preferable, but it's incredibly difficult. I'll take what we've got rather than languishing in mediocrity. I think we look alright for a few years to come with a few moves anyway.
  9. You don't get many shots at a World Series in this league. AA put together a roster that most sports outlets have predicted to win the World Series heading into the playoffs. You can't ask more than that. Whatever happens with the prospects traded happens. We are in the ALCS with a lineup that isn't overmatched. You take risks to get here. Hopefully it works out, but if it doesn't, I for one will have no regrets.
  10. Barry Davis makes everything so much worse.
  11. I wish there were more shadows and wires to help us win. Without the shadows and wires we don't look too good.
  12. Gentlemen, this game is not over and the Royals went to their pen earlier than we did. If Price gets out of this inning it's a new ball game.
