L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Heres the first post, Liam thread was reactionary... Wasn't really reactionary when I've felt that way the entire year.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This is one of the best baseball communities on the internet. Making baseless claims about stealing signs really makes the whole fanbase look like a bunch of insufferable pussies. If you don't like it, pitch better.

I wasn't just referring to the post season. I've been trying to research KC's games this year for a pattern on comebacks. Thinking if the comebacks have been far more then any other team would as it would start a Jessie Ventura conspiracy theory of why they do it so frequent. I know it's completely different, but our kids in years past, and now they 17 years old have elaborate methods of stealing signs and relaying them back to the hitters. This was not really discourage by the coaches as they would say that the pitcher and catcher have a duty to protect the pitch sequence. I guess he was just trying to soften the obvious cheating discussion.

500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 The original thread moved here was the Russell Martin's playoff record thread. I knew there would be a bunch of bad threads started so I intended to dump it into one. As the threads get merged they re-order by date. Someone moved the home advantage thread here recently. Alrighty then thanks

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 f*** Ned Yost for no particular reason other than I hate watching people who suck at their job succeed Ha ha... this is the ultimate theme of this board. We live in a crazy world. A great deal of life is luck. To succeed you have to put yourself into situations where you can take advantage of the good luck, and be robust to bad luck. The KC Royals are lucky. No one wants to acknowledge it because we are trained to "respect" those who are lucky. If we respect them and pretend their luck is skill they might share some of their treasure with us. Don't get me wrong... there is hard work as well, the Royals organization built a 85+ win team... but they have no special skills the Pirates or the A's don't. Over the last five years the Royals aren't any better than those teams... just luckier.

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 We haven't made the playoffs in 20 years, and when we do, they have 70% of our games on weekdays, when we're still at work. Nobody else is getting the shaft quite like we are.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 We couldn't just expect to make it to the WS (I'll be f***ed if the Royals deserve it, but I digress) on our first trip to the post season in 22 years. An AL East title and being ALCS finalists will be a great season. Hopefully next year, we nab Heyward and tell Gibby to f*** off.

Everyone is playing as well as they need to. It really comes down to a few Gibby mistakes imo.

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Season is not over, bitches.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Whether tomorrow's game is the last one or not, I have to give props to the Jays and AA in particular for making an exciting October for the first time in 22 years. If someone with a time-machine wants to go back to July and tell me that we would be down 3-1 against the Royals in the ALCS you'd get to see me jump for f***ing joy. Playoff experience is something that this team desperately needed. Hopefully, our lineup will be a good draw for a couple of free agent arms that we are obviously in need of.
