CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I agree that the Jays hitter were selfish as f*** yesterday. Swinging at 3-0 should be forbidden to sub-40 homer hitters.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Wat? Fair point... The cover seems a little cringe worthy given what we've seen the last week. Fun fact Moseby was on the cover the week before the 87 collapse.

SAAviour Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Dear hockey fans/Jays bandwagoners... There is a reason baseball season is 162 games long, it takes a long time to sort out good teams from bad ones, not just 2 games, or 5 or even 20. Put the Phillies in the playoffs this year and there's a chance they win the World Series. You're going to hear this a lot, "the playoffs are a crap shoot."

Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 lol...all you do is whine. JD episode was cringe worthy, give me a break. The pitcher was yelling at him first and you take the opposing pitchers side. You give zero credit to texas. They've played well. The team doesn't owe you wins, they owe you effort and the effort is there. The team hit Cole Hamels hard yesterday. Cole freaking hamels. He's got more playoff experience than anyone in the series. Do you have proof the pitcher was yelling at him? Please don;t be a blind homer.

Only 1 out generated by jay hitters on 3-0 counts, martin in B4, score was 3-3, 2 out, bases empty, ground out 2B-1B. Pillars GIDP RBI in bottom 2 was 2-0 count. Trailing 3-2, runners 1st/3rd, 0 outs, texas conceeds run to kill rally.

I'm aware mate, just having fun with folk who complain on baseless BS, because they think they know. P.S. Martin was hung by a couple tards there. Dude who started this thread, and the limited few that are like his jock itch.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 How many were there? Answer, quick?! You've had an hour now, thought so. Woah woah, I'm currently driving back to Montreal. You had to give me more time before posting that "I thought so" comment. I would say Russell Martin, off the top of my head. He swung at a 3-0 pitch. I do remember Pillar having crappy swings at 2-0 counts too.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I was at Game 2 what a bad loss. Huge mistakes defensively and I didn't understand pinch running for Cola with Pompey then not steal right away...I know it was expected but still. The play at 2nd was horrible. I must say the dome's atmosphere was incredible. No beer after the 7th is f***ed up though

Especially with a shady strike zone. Those are hitter counts, period.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Series would have been 1-1, If Cecil started the inning instead of Stroman.

Billy Bats Verified Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) I agree with you they should be embarrassed. They're getting owned. All those home runs and circus catches in the regylar season mean jack s*** if they lose this series, especially if they get swept which is a strong possibility. Jays are a laughing stock. They can demolish Perez tomorrow night tho, don`t know if they can string together any hits other then a solo home run and here and there. sloppy baseball lately Edited October 11, 2015 by Billy Bats

Watch the game. No drunk idiots around where I was at and just because some people wanted to enjoy a few beers during the game doesn't make them alcoholics.... However in the beer concession lineup there was maybe half a dozen morons yelling but the cops were ready for it. It sucked big time for me because I was next in line and didn't know about the rule typically in the past by the 7th inning I didn't bother getting a drink nobody said nothing about the rule. Still it didn't bother me that much compared to some of the guys. I went to tilted kilt afterwards pretty nice place! Decent prices too

I actually was not aware of that rule but I haven't been drunk at a Blue Jays game since I was in high school and most of that drinking came on the train.

But none of the drunks where as annoying as the idiot selling snacks. moron stood in the way with the s*** on his head looking like an idiot for almost a half inning every time he came down. fans spent more time yelling at that idiot than they did the umpire. pretty much says how bad he was. most of the concession guys got down and out of the way and still got their jobs done. wonder if it was the guy who used to post on here about his inside track because he worked at the RC? lol
Key22 Verified Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I think we have to not get too obsessed with win the world series or we're terrible. Fact 1: at the start of the season no one expected this team to make the playoffs. Fact 2: Texas was one of if not the hottest team post all-star break - with a bunch of great bats in their line-up when healthy - they can hit home runs. Fact 3: Short Series - anything can happen - doesn't matter how great a team you have in the regular season. Fact 4: You can't expect Jays hitters to hit as well against a first place team's 1-2 starters as they hit against middling to lat place teams 3-4-5 starters. That Jays crush bad pitchers or good pitchers having off nights but games tend to be close...and then anything can happen. Fact 5 - The Rangers won two games in a row against a very good team --- The Jays have the talent to be able to win 3 in a row against a good team as well. It's not Price's fault or Martin's or whoever. Sometimes you just get beat - the other guy played better than you that particular night. I don't get why everyone blames the Jays for losing rather than giving credit to the Rangers for playing really well. If the Jays lose - they'll work to address the fixes needed for next year - new boss Shapiro coming in and what appears to be more money coming as well.

Yep that basically same with me it's been a long time since I tied one on at Jays game did it last year with the Leafs. the guys in front of us packed in 10 beers each before the 7th and were absolutely obnoxious the last 2 innings. I went with a buddy we scored free tickets so we enjoyed ourselves by the 7th I must have had 8-10 in me a couple were before the game but we also had a baby literally less then a year old beside us so we kept it a bit tame besides a few great plays...
