scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Lol. You're lame. Orrrrr....... I got my drinks in me before I got to the Dome, and I was cool with paying $9.50 per Bud at the game. But seriously, if the Bills couldn't get drinking on the streets for 6 seasons of "BILLS IN TORONTO" games, then Jays had zero chance. We're just not like that here. I go to Vegas every year for NHL Awards, and I'm STILL weirded out about drinking on the streets. Tell you what. You coming to the game tomorrow or on Wednesday? I'll treat you to a drink. Just not on a public street. That's how we roll here
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 It was like any regular season game I've been to. Sorry for expecting more. "First time in 22 years". Thought there would be something going on outside before the game. Was in Detroit for the Lions home opener a few weeks ago. It's was 100x better. Sounds like you were expecting 50,000 people to break drinking Laws and get smashed outside for cheap, then go inside drink some more and get retarded.

We watched two "arguments" from people who clearly left work early or never made it there, and had no idea how to act around human beings, in our usually very well behaved, mostly STHer section, because people were supposed to get stupid drunk at 3pm on a Thursday just because....ummmm.....BASEBALL!!!! I love the Jays. I love when they win. But I hate the fans when they do win. The fans make me wish for the nights of 18k fans who actually care about the game.

Lots of pea brained meatheads out there that just want an excuse to drink.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Any update on JD? Go into the JD thread.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Go into the JD thread. I did. Other than the Rosenthal tweet, there's nothing else.
scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I did. Other than the Rosenthal tweet, there's nothing else. Passed the concussion test. Expected for tomorrow. Not sure if Josh asked to be pulled or if MLB made him spend the evening in the "quiet room". Didn't care for Pete Rose questioning Donaldson's manhood about not playing rest of game.

What's the "quiet room"?
scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Cool, thanks. What's the "quiet room"? Hockey reference. Concussion related. NHL won't use the C-Word. Not the good one, but the brain injury one. ETA -- in hockey -- they have to spend, I believe 10-15 minutes, in a dark room to prove that they aren't brain hurt if anyone hits them near the brain. "Quiet room" has become a buzzword for any head injury.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Hockey reference. Concussion related. NHL won't use the C-Word. Not the good one, but the brain injury one. Oh ok thanks
scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Oh ok thanks My ETA was much funnier and concise. I am someone who typically needs a re-do.
bluejays12 Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 As per fox tonight the winner in game 1 has one all eight series since they introduced this format. LLOl Bye bye jays

And if you look at their immediate end of season records all those teams went in fairly hot. Unlike Gibbons who shut his team down. Huge mistake.
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 No need to panic unless they lose game 2 tomorrow. Then it's pretty much over. If they win game 2 then it's a best of 3.

Probably why they all have the flu right now.

That first game at home is massive and with the new injuries We get our guys back and the Beltre injury hurts them more anyway. I'm confident that our offense will find a way to get this done tomorrow. I won't be surprised if Stroman matches Hamels. Win game 2 and we are GOOD. Jays offense is going to crush in Arlington against mediocre pitching.
scagneti Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Is there anything good that could come from me watching the Jays in 30? No? Didn't think so.

LLOl Bye bye jays such a stupid comment. Yes the two wildcard game came in 2 years ago...but there have been 5 game series since 1971. And as my post earlier noted 33 of the 108 (30.5%) have came back to win.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Why do I get the feeling that Harvey/Bluejays12/Scagneti are all the same person talking to themself?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Why do I get the feeling that Harvey/Bluejays12/Scagneti are all the same person talking to themself? There are a lot of people just breathing the same tired narrative into each other's ears in this thread. Price had an 11-day recovery from his last start, so that must be the problem. What about that his last start vs Tampa was on forced regular rest? That the team shuffled his and Buehrle's start after an off-day to keep Price on 4 days? Price got lit up then by the wet noodle Rays. Price is bad vs the Rangers? Who could forget how those long time Rangers lineups have loomed over Price? Guys like DeShields, Fielder, Choo, Odor, and Chirinos -- you know, the guys who really only have played a complete season for the org... this year. Price kinda stunk at times in game 1. Seemed like he was still actually better than in his last regular start, though. s*** happens. Sometimes the guy who only HBPs three batters all year plunks Rougned Odor twice. 220 innings is a long way to go, and you could just as baselessly argue that the 11-day recovery time was necessary to get even a mediocre Price start considering what he did in his last regular season game against Tampa.
