  1. Is there anything good that could come from me watching the Jays in 30? No? Didn't think so.
  2. 15C?? That's our best case March through May. So, that's really a thing that the roof can't open if it's under 12C? If only they knew 25 years ago to plan for a cold CDN fall-slash-spring...
  3. Oh dear. Um. No. Just offering a free pint of fine Toronto beer to those who might have made a trek and felt they deserved it. I will be paying for my bar bill, and since I have literally trolled this board for far too long. I thought I would offer a free beer to anyone who came and said, "Hey, you....person from the board. I will chat with you for a few minutes so that you're alone less time than you should be..." But thanks for making it creepy.
  4. Anyone else say "FUQQQUUUU" when Fox said that?
  5. Yay Astros!!
  6. My ETA was much funnier and concise. I am someone who typically needs a re-do.
  7. Nostra-RASMUS??? HAHAHA. Am here all night folks. Seriously, try the veal and tip your waitresses...
  8. Hockey reference. Concussion related. NHL won't use the C-Word. Not the good one, but the brain injury one. ETA -- in hockey -- they have to spend, I believe 10-15 minutes, in a dark room to prove that they aren't brain hurt if anyone hits them near the brain. "Quiet room" has become a buzzword for any head injury.
  9. Passed the concussion test. Expected for tomorrow. Not sure if Josh asked to be pulled or if MLB made him spend the evening in the "quiet room". Didn't care for Pete Rose questioning Donaldson's manhood about not playing rest of game.
  10. FYI -- if the Royals lose, there will be some great seats available for games 1 & 2 of ALCS because I didn't count right and I'll be in Montreal for the first two games for hockey.
  11. We watched two "arguments" from people who clearly left work early or never made it there, and had no idea how to act around human beings, in our usually very well behaved, mostly STHer section, because people were supposed to get stupid drunk at 3pm on a Thursday just because....ummmm.....BASEBALL!!!! I love the Jays. I love when they win. But I hate the fans when they do win. The fans make me wish for the nights of 18k fans who actually care about the game.
  12. I always felt like it was more that Rogers didn't want to pay the apparently $200 it cost them to close the roof. Not sure if the amount was true, but for the last 10 years of STH/Toronto Star passholder, I loved to pull that stat out of nowhere.
  13. Orrrrr....... I got my drinks in me before I got to the Dome, and I was cool with paying $9.50 per Bud at the game. But seriously, if the Bills couldn't get drinking on the streets for 6 seasons of "BILLS IN TORONTO" games, then Jays had zero chance. We're just not like that here. I go to Vegas every year for NHL Awards, and I'm STILL weirded out about drinking on the streets. Tell you what. You coming to the game tomorrow or on Wednesday? I'll treat you to a drink. Just not on a public street. That's how we roll here
  14. I really did think that when it came to MLB, their only involvement was "would the rain/snow cause this game to be cancelled?" Apparently not. Game should have had roof open. It was stupid hot in there today, but it's not like it cost the Jays the game. I hope that MLB didn't pussy out and worry that the Rangers would be too cold with an open roof, cause what would they have done in any other ALE city with no dome??
  15. Not the Jays fault. We're not all alcoholics in Ontario. No drinking on the streets. Buy a $5 draft in a bar or GTFO. The atmosphere was great around the Dome. Tons of people, everyone in Jays stuff, and cool food choices (even Kaplanski's food cart was across the street) If you had an issue with the around the dome lack of drinking, that was on you more than on the Jays.
